Less than $3 for the bitsy bug? That’s right up my alley. Wonder if the tiny rage bug would be good on it.

Yes. Tiny size and midsize rage bug works great.Other favorites of mine are the small size pit boss, small size river bug (bass pro) TRD (excellent glued on for a trailer).

Do-It flat eye arkie. Twin tail grub. Old school rig that still gets it done, and only costs a couple bucks. Built to my specifications in my garage.

Strike King Bitsy Flip with a Net Bait Paca Chunk or you can go up to a Buckeye Jigs G - Man Ball'n Out Jig ... Truthfully though - just go to site sponsor Siebert Outdoors and select one of his jigs in any number of colors that suit your fancy !

Bitsy bug has too thin and weak of a hook for my liking. I go bitsy flip. Trailer, baby rage craw, or zoom z craw jr. If you use the z craw jr though, you need super glue and to trim down the bait a little before threading on

One of my better fish this year came on a bitsy flip in mid-Feb. In MO, shortly before I left for TX

I rarely throw a pre made stand alone jig.
When that bite is on, I’d much rather just add a skirt to any t rigged plastic.
It gives fast changes in bulk and/or flash if that’s what she wants on any given day.

Most times it’s either a Rage bug or Skinny Dipper sometimes with and without an under spin.

Neither of these are pitching jigs, but I both cast and pitch them and they are my favorite 1/4oz finesse jigs.  They have great hooks for M-MH, 8-16lb line, come through light weeds/rocks well, and get bit.  DHT punisher jig and Tight rope firework finesse jig.  I tend to stick with a beaver style bait, cut down to size or a small chunk.

Funny, because that's one of the reason I choose it for use with 8lb. test fluorocarbon. Then again, I'm not pitching it into heavy cover, mostly hard bottom structure and grass. With a decent size trailer, it'll sit on top of denser vegetation and, like a lipless crank, will trigger a reaction strike when ripped upward.

For heavier cover, I go with a heavier jig and shorten the skirt and trailer for a more compact profile.

Love the tightrope jig.  Such a stout hook for a finesse jig.

I always opt to just peg a weight on a smaller creature bait rather than throw a lightweight jig. I rarely throw jigs under 3/4 of an ounce.

If I want a skirt on my creature bait I put a punch collar in front of the hook

Just got home from academy with 3 SK Bitsy Flips and 2 tour grade SK Finesse Jigs all 1/4oz obviously.

They had nothing in small trailers though. Wanted to see some in person. I’ll have to order some now.

oh, grabbed a white back shad magdraft too.

FYI I have some 3.5” Z-craws and they are about an inch too big for these. I need 2.5” trailers.
