Randy Price Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Does anyone know why SC discontinued the Avid-X? I'm guessing it was to replace the Victory line but wasn't sure. Quote
Super User webertime Posted April 12, 2023 Super User Posted April 12, 2023 Avid (for Bass) and Avid X were replaced with the victory. If I were a betting man I'd wager it had to do with the new blank material (Victory). 1 Quote

Super User WIGuide Posted April 12, 2023 Super User Posted April 12, 2023 I'd be guessing since the introduction of the Victory around the same price point and that the micro guide craze has died down a little I think they probably felt it was unnecessary to have both. 1 Quote

I think the Avid X sales were tanking near the end as well. I know stores that used to carry them stopped carrying them. Quote

The Avid X line was geared towards the anglers who favored the newer style grips and lengths, kind of like the original Mojo Bass compared to the premier line. It's just the easiest line to drop. E-H Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 I am really disappointed about this. I bought 2 avid-x mlf 6'6" and they are perfect for all fish up to 4 lbs or so. Used with procyon lt 2500 and vanford. Incredibly balanced and easy to cast all day. I tried the victory line but it was xf and not good for anything surface and none of the other lengths fit what I was looking for. The bottom up reel seat was getting loose for me too. The avid-x is exactly what I was looking for with good sensitivity but still plenty of backbone. Anyone know of another line or brand that is similar with a top down reel seat? I am looking for a 3rd rod and opened up another post a while ago but didn't get any responses. Mostly catch smaller smb but tons of numbers on a private lake. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Just fyi seat orientation (up locking VS down locking) has nothing to do with seat loosening. Don’t restrict your choices based on that. Quote
