txchaser Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 I tripped and knocked the ring out of a guide on a poison adrena. Where can I get it repaired that will replace it with the original part? I see reel service locations on the shimano site but no authorized rod repair. I suppose as an alternative I could order the ring and take it to a local repair shop. Any ideas? Quote
Reel Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 If the ring is not broken, you can push it back in a put a tiny drop of something like Crazy glue. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 13, 2023 Posted April 13, 2023 Any competent rod builder can match the guide and wrap for an effective repair. Shipping is often a deal breaker depending on the value of the rod and estimate for repair. Replacing a single guide is a $10 plus guide job give or take. Quote

I sent an AGS rod out locally and got back a standard fuji guide /facepalm. So I'm in triple check mode; last few repairs I did I just sent guides from the manufacturer. Quote

Most of the time they say it looks fine or slap some epoxy on it instead or wrapping it again. Sometimes matching the thread color is tough too. Especially Megabass. Quote
