@Ohioguy25 I cannot tell you for certain about the seals but I can say that it’s my understanding (JP fishing tackle news) that the Miravel is basically a Nasci made out of CI4 material, therefore it will be lighter in weight and you said you are replacing a Sahara 1000 on a 5’ish rod. Therefore I feel it will balance better for you on a lighter rod. I purchased a Stradic 1000 but I’m planning on mounting it on a 7’-0” or a 7’-1” rod myself. I do see myself getting a Miravel at some point down the road and I’m looking forward to hearing from the members on here about their experiences with the Miravel.

Worth the extra $20?

I can’t tell you if it is or isn’t but it would be for me.

I can’t seem to find specs, any idea what the exact weight difference might be?

The sealing of reels is way over rated. There are millions of Ambassaduers, penns , curados etc that are decades old and still going strong without being sealed or any other new technology.

Yes, worth the extra 20$.  I have both.  The Miravel is a much ''tighter'' reel.

All I needed to hear. Thanks!

If you want the Miravel - get it here

https://www.digitaka.com/item/5/4/1/4969363045119

$107, no shipping, no tax - should have it in hand in 3-4 days.

Only downside - no warranty support.
