Logan S Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 FX-711X4 - Seven Eleven F6-611K - Mat Bucker Type-L $175 each, both for $300. Price is TYD. The 711 is a telescoping rod and has sprial wrapped guides. It has a small dent in the butt cap where the deck stabilizer from a Fortrex came down on it. It was like this when I bought it 8 or 9 years ago and hasn't moved or got worse sense, you can see it in the picture. I do not have the original rod bag for the 711 but will include one from a 7'11" Destroyer Warhammer (it's an extra). I have original bad and tag for the Mat Bucker Type-L Pics. PM your phone number for more info or pics. 711 Mat Bucker Type-L
DEPS_250 Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Do you know if the Megabass Orochi FX-711X4 - Seven Eleven can handle 3oz? How long is the handle section from the back of the reel seat to the butt cap? I know its rated up to 2 oz but was wondering if it can handle just a little more. I want a rod for light inshore/surf fishing for halibut/bass here in southern california and need a rod that can handle glide baits, jerk baits and multi jointed hard baits up to 3oz. I am definitely not going to go over 3oz. Ima glide fluke 178 at 2.80oz is the heaviest I am planning on throwing with the rod. I know Tackle Tour did a review for this rod and I read the whole article already. From the photos on the TT site, the action looks to be pretty parabolic and soft. Since the rod is already broken in, I am pretty sure its a pretty soft and parabolic rod now and can definitely handle doing some treble hook bait duties right?
Logan S Posted May 29, 2023 Author Posted May 29, 2023 @DEPS_250 I don't think 3oz would be really in this rods wheelhouse unfortunately. It's about 11" from back of reelseat to butt. I used this rod for flipping 1/2 and 3/4oz punch rigs into grass and pads on braid, anything about 3/4 sinker weight and it felt over powered for what I was doing. I tried 6xds with it and it could do that as well, but I wasn't the biggest fan of it for cranking. It's sort of an oddball rod, I think it's best application is what I used it for, light flipping with braid. It's taper is a solid mod-fast, not "parabolic" like a cranking rod.
