Rod is Megabass Orochi XX Diablo Spec R 7’2” 3/8-3/4oz.

I use It almost exclusively for chatterbaits.

Reel choices:

Tatula TWS 80 6.3:1
or

Tatula TWS SV70 7.1:1

I throw mostly swim jigs on that rod. I have a 6.3 Tatula Elite on it. I usually prefer 6 speed reels for swim jigs and Chatterbaits.

I bought that 70 in the classifieds and now need to find a home for It lol.

So here’s what I’ve decided.

80 stays put.

My most least used combo is a topwater spook/buzzbait combo. It has a Tatula CT 8.1 on It. This is my current least nicest reel. I just sold It on another forum.

I will take a 7.3 Tatula 150 from my Falcon Expert All Around and put It on the topwater rod. It’s now my least nicest reel. Least nice goes on least used.

The SV70 7.1 goes on the Falcon All Around. I have no specific uses for this combo, I just like It. lol. Maybe squarebills, backup chatters, sleeper gills.

Whew crisis averted.

Btw 80 is what has been on this setup prior to my purchasing the 70 today. That’s what I meant by It stay put.

I do wanna try the 70 tho. Thinking I may get it for my new 7' med-light Tatula Elite rod. I held one at a store last week and man that thing is tiny. Seems even smaller than the Curado MGL 70.

I have tried the smaller frame reels and don’t like them as much.  I am 6’3” with pretty big hands.   I just feel I have more control with a bigger reel.  I also like the capacity of a little bigger reel.   I seem to re-tie  or have pike bite me off a lot, so I like the extra line.

I would have to go with the 80, but IMO I wouldnt use either for chatterbaits unless I absolutely had to.  I throw 15lb FC and have found a 6 speed 150 to be the best tool for the job that I have at my disposal.

I use 50lb braid and there’s no way line capacity would ever be an issue for me with the 80.
