Sorry for the loss of your mom and uncle, it's tough losing close relatives and I know from experience.

 

Ya - guys...get that PSA test regularly. Since my treatment for eye cancer, I get my PSA done every visit to my oncologist...forewarned is forearmed.

Thank You for sharing your personal story. We both have had a similar recent path in caring for a beloved adult relative and dealing with a serious personal medical concern. I'm glad we both made it through it all and continue with our lives. Your sage advice is helpful in addressing things early on to minimize risk. It is very important to be vigilant as there are more comfortable options when things are dealt with earlier. It is great you are able to share to benefit others. That is a key aspect of BassResource.

My Grandfather developed prostate cancer and it had spread to his bones before it was detected.  He died in 2012 at the age of 72, after a battle with it of 4 years.

Sorry to hear about your mom and uncle passing and your dealings with prostate cancer.

Thanks so much for sharing the information about testing and early detection. A simple blood test, as you mentioned, is the key to early detection. I myself have been tested yearly for over 30yrs.

So to all the members and their dads, uncles, brothers, friends: GO GET A PSA TEST NOW. I really can't stress enough how important this is.

Men. We do so hate going to see the doc until it’s 100% necessary. Prostate cancer is no joke, fellas. Get tested regularly. Just like your moms and wives get mammograms regularly.

The important thing Glenn, you need to take care of you and yours.  Know I as all of us are also your friends from afar but still friends nonetheless.   The bass at PH needed a reprieve anyway?

Glad your doing better man, sorry for your losses. My girlfriend lost her father when she was 18, 4 months after graduation. Still hits her from time to time. Hang in there man...oh and do some fishing! Nature has great healing, soothing powers.
