Finessegenics Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) I really thought Gussy's lead would be bigger. Lester isn't so far behind. Edit: Watching the weigh-in, and it looks like Lester might even have the lead!! Edited March 24, 2023 by Finessegenics Quote
jtharris3 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I’m rooting for Gussy! But Swindel winning it would be cool too! 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 25, 2023 Global Moderator Posted March 25, 2023 John Cox in 4th cranking muddy water again, that’s what he did in 2021 here also. Different creek this time but same pattern, I think he got 3rd in that one 1 Quote

I wasn’t expecting to see a little spillway Here’s fellow BR member @BigSkyBasser with a striper during the 2019 classic where Hackney was fishing yesterday. I don’t think any competitors tried it that year 4 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 26, 2023 Global Moderator Posted March 26, 2023 Obviously I enjoy the heck out it when they come to my home pond, but dang it sounds like the fishing is tough as shoe leather. Makes me feel better about my measly results haha 1 Quote

It’s always tough but I did forget to mention they have had to release lots and lots of 3 lb smallmouth , can’t box one unless it’s 18” + drew Benton just had to do that, the fish would have put him close to the lead 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 26, 2023 Super User Posted March 26, 2023 I hope this is the last classic for a really long time that is won by SMs. Yesterday for a brief window it was exciting with the LGM bite. They really need these on big Bass factories, watching SMs, and 2-3fish limits sucks, there I said it ? Quote

Thats a good strategy but you cant win if not fishing on day three . 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 26, 2023 Global Moderator Posted March 26, 2023 Palanuik said he ran to the top of tellico and caught a 40 lb striper a 10 lb rainbow 3 lb brown trout and a 17” smallmouth he had to release . Wow hahaha 3 Quote

Wow hahaha Love watching this BASS live, these are two great guests. 40lb Striper is close to a fish of a lifetime if you are into Strippers Lol, they need to turn this into a Catfish or any Species day 3 ? TNRiver46 surely could have won this event with White Bass ? 14 minutes ago, scaleface said: Swindle just said he could have caught a limit but he was fishing for larger bass to win . Go big or go home, they knew what it was going to take to win, and swung to get. This is shaping up to be exciting in the afternoon. 1 Quote
