Super User GreenPig Posted March 23, 2023 Super User Posted March 23, 2023 I could make it until December, when my wife looks at me and says order your Christmas from me. Then again around April for my BD. It's not me, I'm being coerced. This year's BD order came yesterday. ? 1 2 Quote

Other than bass fishing and scale model building, my other hobby is driving down country roads just to see where they go. If I drive by a mom and pop shop, I can't help but stop. If I stop, I'm buying something. My wife collects old cookbooks and cookware so she never says anything about my addiction. She's one heck of a cook! I went to Monroe, LA to get a new tattoo yesterday. Did I go straight home? Only after stopping by the Honey Hole tackle shop for some Booyah One Knockers! We're going to Little Rock next weekend. I already know that I'll be stopping at BPS. I don't even try to fight it anymore, is what it is. 5 Quote

Super User Log Catcher Posted March 24, 2023 Super User Posted March 24, 2023 I can probably go two years before I buy anything. Then it would just be line and hooks. As long as nothing else breaks I'm well stocked. Quote
Hawgfinder Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 For me always buy new stuff, meaning just released by companies and catch crazy amounts of bass, order tons of colors and within 2-3 years non producers because everyone else has the baits and I have over abundance of these baits So I guess according to my grandson 10-12 years ? 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted March 24, 2023 Super User Posted March 24, 2023 If I didn’t buy any new lures after selling 99% of my tackle 2 years ago, what I still have will last a lifetime. even though only fish about 6 times a year now I still like to buy new lures! Tom 2 Quote
Tom Orr Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I'll be 69 in April, and still in great health, and except for maybe line I could probably go until I can't fish anymore. But will I? We all know how that goes? 1 Quote
TriStateBassin106 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Considering I have a bunch of stuff I have no business throwing probably a year? I quickly run out of soft plastics like senkos and some Berkley stuff so probably a year if I only used the stuff I didn't use regularly. 1 Quote
Justbass11 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I have to say I could go a season but I like to fish year long if I can. Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I like to dig through the clearance aisle for crap that I don’t need , so I could probably fish two or three times a week for a couple of years. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 24, 2023 Super User Posted March 24, 2023 how long could you go...... Don't wanna know ? 1 1 Quote
PressuredFishing Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 How long could I go vs how long will I go are two different questions, if this household was a democracy let's say things would be a lot different, but threaten to not tie your older friends and family's knots and leaders and they elect you dictator quickly. 2 Quote
wrat Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 not very long couple of weeks maybe, fishing rocks and lite line I lose stuff, mostly fish plastics anyway and even if I were to buy every bag at the store ( which I don't) I would still run out of what I use, I dont stock pile line so that alone would need replacing Quote
PaulVE64 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I make alot of my jigs so I probably have 10 yrs worth. I'd run out of cranks and jerks in 2yrs. Plastics are maybe 3yrs worth. I think I'd run out of mono and fluoro during one season. 1 Quote
J.Vincent Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I have enough tackle for about 10 or more years without ever needing to replenish; and I have enough money for about 24 hours ? 4 Quote
Super User geo g Posted March 25, 2023 Super User Posted March 25, 2023 I have big bags full of baits in the garage. I organized them into smaller bags labelled but instead of digging through I buy more. My son will probably open a tackle shop when I pass. They all looked good back in the day! 2 Quote

I can fish all my life with what I have and my son can live his life and my grandson maybe need to buy soft plastics 1 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 25, 2023 Super User Posted March 25, 2023 I don't buy huge lots of anything at one time. I do have enough to last at least 1 1/2 maybe 2 years, depending on the baits I use most. Never broke a rod, so hopefully I'm good there, same goes for my reels. Quote
TLHSS Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Depending on how much I fish, usually just about one month. With retirement came a desire to downsize. I did the same with my fishing habits. Found that I purchased stuff every year that didn't consistently catch fish. So I determined what to keep fishing with (mostly soft plastics), and sold the rest. Kicked the bait monkey out of the house. Everything I need to bank fish on smaller lakes and ponds now fits in a small old school tackle box (including two reels). I just fish with one spinning rod and one fly rod. Supplies are purchased on a "just in time" basis with no stored inventory at home. Not for everyone, but I feel better for it. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted March 25, 2023 Super User Posted March 25, 2023 Months. I tend to think I need to replenish something. But really, I have other baits close enough to get by. For instance, I went through a bunch of black/blue lizards so I bought a bag of black/blue and one junebug/chartreuse. I totally forgot I have several bags of different watermelon color combos until I went to put the new ones in my bag. Quote

Probably a lifetime, seriously! I need to stop buying but there is always something I want to try. Just last week my son handed me a big shopping bag of extra rubber baits he had. It weighed about 25 pounds. 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 25, 2023 Super User Posted March 25, 2023 I'll be good on baits for this year at least. It's been a long time since I bought any hooks or weights. If I keep losing them in the rip rap I will be making a purchase pretty soon. 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted March 26, 2023 Super User Posted March 26, 2023 I Quit buying tackle once. Worst day of my life. 2 2 Quote
DTFWI Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 I try to buy stuff 1-2 times a year. Buying new things can be addicting and by the you know you have so much stuff your rarely use. 1 Quote
