D Bomb

Palmetto Bug

Pit Boss

Rage Bug

Brush Hog

Lizard

These have produced fish for me and seem to get bit well in general when they want a creature.

I prefer to fish a 1/2 oz jig and like to put most of these on as trailers if I can get them to bite that way but Texas rigged weightless or on a light Shakey head you'll get more bites in general.

Rage Bug or Sweet Beaver for punching.

Rage Craw, Rage Menace or standard sized Brush Hog mostly as a stand alone t rig.

Another point could be made is that at times I will add a skirt to a so called stand alone t rig.
In doing so it gives me a quasi jig but has the advantage of quick changes in colors, style and the ability to experiment with bulk on the fly depending on what plastic is tied on and where I’m throwing it.

It’s something I do a lot with success but doesn’t seem to get talked about much.

I never tried any different size of the Bug.
Good point.

When Rage Bug is mentioned most think big rod, big line, big weight, & big hooks.

The Baby Bug gives you a "finesse" presentation to complement the bigger bugs.

It swims nice ?

I dont own to many creature baits.  there are a billion in creation for sure.

I have the Flappin Hog for mostly everything

the Palmetto bug for punching

and the baby Brush Hog for pitching

a few others I just for tiny jig trailers and random stuff I dont plan on restocking.

I want to try more gill profiles.

You mean bluegill soft plastics or just bluegill in general?

I have alot of bluegill lures that have done well for me

Bellows gill

Storm green sunfish

Savage gear bluegill

Jackal gantarel jr

We have a lot of green sunfish and some of the areas that I fish and that Storm green sunfish has done really well it looks a lot like a green sunfish in the water despite it being a cheap bait I have caught multiple fish with it on different bodies of water

I really haven't found a creature bait that hasn't worked.  I just try to focus on what baits cause more turbulence than others and choose based on how the fish are acting.

Baby Brush Hog. Always Texas rigged.

That’s my number one also.

#2 is zoom speed craws. I fish them with a #2 wide gap, and a bb shot just above the eye of the hook. I use it mostly for skipping  close-up  in laydowns, under docks, etc.

Give this a try, good craw profile, with some extra action

What is it?  Looks like a magnum jig stuffed in side of craw tube.

Pit Boss 3" and 4"

Z-Craw Jr.

Yomamma

All T rigged or on a Tokyo Rig.

Also some other uses:

Z-Craw on a buzzbait and jig trailer, Pit Boss Jig trailer, Yomamma jig trailer......sometimes weightless.

This is my experience as well but some baits just work better than others. I t-rig all of these most of the time except for the baby brush hog and Zcraw. Baby brush hog gets fished on a shakeyhead, Zcraw on a wobblehead.

Top 5

Smallie Beaver

Baby Brush Hog

Super Hog

Power Hawg

Zoom Zcraw

Baby Brush Hogs, Hula Grubs, Incredi-craws….T-rigged, C-rigged, and hula grubs make great smallmouth baits on a bare 1/2 football jig head.

That is called a spider jig one of the easiest to use and effect jig  everywhere.

Tom

PS, try a Hula Grub using a 3/0 off set hook on a Slip Shot ( finesse C-rig) deadly post spawn.

Z-Hogs

I forgot about them. I have had great success with them, just not lately. The stores I got them at quit having them, and I’m not much of an on line shopper so…

I picked up some incredi-craws during the christmas sale.  They look awesome.  Also picked up some arkie crawlers that are sure to get bit....

The flat worm gets all the press, but the maxscent creature hawg has done some serious damage for me.

They are on the fragile side, but by far my biggest producer over the last few years,

Rage bugs and pit boss still make the trip, but pick up the maxscent first.

If beavers are considered creatures, then the palmetto bug or the SK rage bug are my two in the boat.  I caught a few last year on the bandito bug as both trailer and texas rig, but the durability sucks and I don't buy another pack when these are done.

Excited to try the space monkey this spring.  Its a little bigger than I'd normally grab, but the rage tails will move water so I'm sure it will work.  Just have to decide when I want to throw it.

I'm also loving the look of the rage ned bug, but that's more as a trailer on a finesse jig.  I'm sure it would also work on a straight ned head, but I'm not there yet.

The Space Monkey and a keel weighted hook are deadly. The way it flutters on the fall, it gets crushed.
