On another note, never top off your tank by manipulating the pump handle to get as much fuel in the tank as possible. What will happen is you will over flow fuel into the vent tube and it will run into your emissions charcoal canister and ruin it.

I refill when the gauge shows i used 1/4 tank. Phsycologically my gas bill is cheap.

Fill it every time.

Every Friday after work I fill up my truck and a couple of gas cans. I have an Irving rewards card that gives me 10-20 cents off per gallon. The gas cans go in my second car, which never goes to the gas station.

It depends on where I am. If I’m in my area, I top it off. Gas is around $4.20 give or take.

If I’m low on gas like in Seattle and I really need some gas, and this is rare (1/4 tank is my usual indicator to refill), I will put in maybe $10 since that would be more than enough to get home. Some parts around Seattle you will see > or = to $5.

Yeah, I can afford it, but just because I can, doesn’t mean I have to. The money saved might be enough to buy a pack of roboworms. In the words and Stan Lee, ‘Nuff said. ?

I fill it every time and I never let it get below 1/2 full (and rarely let it get that low) unless I'm on a highway road trip.

I always fill our vehicles up when they get down close to half full. I have heard too many stories about fuel pump failure if you run them down too low since most fuel pumps are inside the gas tank now.
