I would not mind a moderator deleting this thread. I started with building a bass pond or building on a bass lake if money didn't limit the options and the thread wandered off into hookers, God, politics, HOAs, and blow. I was actually looking forward to reading what other bass fishers would build or buy, i.e. their dream set-up.

C'mon, local lakes, melt!

Well that’s not how the internet works……..

but I’m sure we could delete it if you really wish

You're right. Threads wander. Keep it if it doesn't cross any standards.

I would buy all the fake news media....move their operations out of N.Y. and L.A. to wherever people are honest and decent, and staff them with honest and decent people.

i dont think location is what dictates what people think they can sell as news.

i want news to go back to facts and zero opinions anyways.

I'd open a JDM tackle shop that is also a cannabis dispensary.  It would have an eatery/lounge that served wood fired NYC pizza.  I might just live there ?

It’s always the posters that cross the line, rarely the thread itself haha.

I can tell you from experience, retiring with no worries is a myth.  Your kids, your spouse, your future, potential illness, even the daily news will worry you.  No amount of money will keep this from keeping you up at night.  The best way to prevent this is to put all your worries in God's hands.  Only then will you have true peace.  Works for me....

I’m retired and have no worries that keep me up at night. I’m not even close to Warren Buffet money but I’ve got enough for my needs. I don’t waste time or energy worrying about what might happen.

I used to have all these plans and schemes if I ever got rich.  Now, none of it means anything.  I'm sure I'd build a house for the wife and I but it wouldn't be some opulent mansion.  It would be all the things we would want and nothing we didn't.  I'm sure I'd get a new truck and probably a boat but it wouldn't have to be the biggest and best.  What I WOULD do?  Have peace of mind that my wife and kids would be secure if anything happened to me.  I'm comfortable and satisfied now.  I guess I would be "comfortabler and satisfieder" with more money

honestly, i would fullfill a bucket list items.  lots of them.

my fishing ones.  Accension Island tuna.  that big crazy trout in Monglia,

i would buy a cargo plane and a crew to fly it.  load a Toyota Hilux into it and a small fleet of Hobie Kayaks.  boxes of baits and lures.

i would fly around the world and kayak fish areas never dreamed of.   Imagine slipping a kayak into the Mekong river?  or the Amazon?  Hobie fish lake Biwa?

my wife would donate the rest to charity anyways.  i would have to hurry.  youtube the heck out of it.  bring friends and celebrity fisherpeople.

You're thinking big, D-B. I like it. Please invite me on one of your kayak expeditions. If we fish the Amazon, you better hire some muscle. There are some bad men on that river. And don't forget that I'm inviting you over to my Virginia spread to fish the ponds of your choosing.

I'm glad that works for you.

No kids, no spouse.  No need to burden an imaginary sky being.  I'm comfortable as it is, but a couple extra zeros in my bank accounts would absolutely help me sleep better.

I’d buy a few hundred acres, dig/build my own bass pond, build a house, build a giant pole barn, and work the land to grow big bucks.

i would set up a trust fund so that my kids would get $1500/week,  and my grands would get the same  when they turned 21. it would come from investments they couldn't touch.   they could pass it on to one of their children. i'd build a house on a piece of ground where i could have a shooting range and a bass pond. maybe take a deer  or two every year.  the ground would be big enough so that my kids could have their house  on it too, as well as grow some food.  my house would be relatively small,  with an attached recording studio.

i would have a japanese bathroom. i would have a pole barn garage with a workshop. my drive way would be paved. i'd have a few toys, but nothing extravagant.

i've thought a LOT about what i would do with an insane amount of wealth

  1.  buy a reservoir and all relevant lake-using tools (boat, truck, gunship etc). Think Lake Diversion in TX. You can buy a whole-ass multi-thousand-acre lake if you have the money and are willing to compromise with applicable DWR. I don't want ponds except for fish breeding. I want a whole reservoir.
  2.  pay BR members to harvest a slot limit of bass and send me pics of the biggins while I am also harvesting a slot limit of bass and sending pics of biggins as well. non-members hunted for sport.
  3.  never work again. continue to catch biggins. Also install a heavy duty artillery range/gun range somewhere nearby, complete with both a flight sim and an airstrip with laser-tag equipped P-51s. For those of us who want to play air-tag for real.
  4.  surround the lake with houses for all my friends and pay off the government to lower the area taxes. When you're rich, anything is possible! Money unlocks a whole new world of price tags that were previously laws and regulations.
  5. Race tracks.
  6. invent a time machine and give the finger to barry goldwater
  7. figure out solutions for world hunger, air pollution tech, and getting the plastic out of our blood and rain

wild how all of that is mathematically possible with only the wealth of one person

I wouldn’t buy/build a private lake, for some reason those don’t appeal to me. I like having to fish with all the other regular Joe’s.

Hopefully, that would be sick. I would love to not need a trolling motor

i spent 2 hours in a real f 18 sim (1 hour, twice)  it was fun, but also exhausting.

i used to have a real nice set up in fsx, but i did mostly bush pilot stuff and ga.  i tried cfs1 but i was terrible at it.  my favorites were the kodiak  and the 337. i miss it, but i got tired of fixing issues with payware sceneries, video cards that were not well built. it made me hate newegg

LOL. If you look at the log of a certain US destroyer, you will find an entry made late one night while underway of something(s) witnessed by 3 lookouts and one Bosun of the watch, that to this day one of them has no idea what it could have been...
