Super User TOXIC Posted April 28, 2023 Author Super User Posted April 28, 2023 Don’t forget to tell how you rigged it. Quote
Cbump Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I’ll be using mine tomorrow and Sunday. Currently have a 5/0 ewg tied on and will fish weightless. Quote

Super User TOXIC Posted April 28, 2023 Author Super User Posted April 28, 2023 That’s too bad. I’m going to give it a try tomorrow on the Rappahonock and will rig with a small nose weight due to the current. 1 Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted May 10, 2023 Author Super User Posted May 10, 2023 I guess I better update myself. The Rappahonock trip had fast, high, stained, moving water and was not conducive to throwing the Yamatanuki. Im getting gear ready for our St Clair trip that starts a week from this Saturday. I’ll be able to throw it there as well as possibly our filming with Kim Striker. Quote
Fat Ika Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Yamatanuki played cleanup yesterday. I see little bass playing/nipping the tail, but all the 1+ pounders grab and don't let go. Use the Ryugi Infini 4/0 for Yamatanuki, which is what I use for Cover Scats, some Fat Ika days depending on mood/always experimenting with Ika hooks (Gammy Deep & Ryugi Pierce w/ replaced Owner centering pins), also use Ryugi infini 3/0 or 4/0 with the Issei Shizumi Mushi 3.2. Yesterday was bluebird skies, cloudy water in spawning bays due to (wind blown banks, stirred slimed, premature/new weed growth not developed enough to filter water), 5-7 mph winds. 3/8 oz swim jig/3.8 Keitech, jackhammer, lipless, min max.....not producing bites. 3/16 oz Uoze swim jig generating 1-3 pounder bites. Yamatanuki cleaning up a few 2 pounders in same areas, followed by hover rig just catching baby 1-2 year old bass. After running this area thoroughly with the Uoze swimmer, the Yamatanuki landed this fish. Estimated 20 3/4" fish. 5 1 Quote
