I would contact Minn Kota help line. I found a list of Tracker xl mounts for different trolling motors but none were for the Ulterra.

I don't see why not - the bolt holes may not line up depending on what you have now. You may have to check wire gauge of the trolling outlet to battery and if you can setup a 24v system. You can get to the screws of the old trolling motor by moving the foot pedal tray.

Keep in mind that you don't see this for a reason - not too many people want to stick a $2500 trolling motor on a $15000 boat but I see $25000 boats with $20000 of electronics added to it.

lol right?   Ya, this is for my pops....he sold his old boat and now he bought a tracker classic and he really wants the ulterra regardless of price....pretty sure mainly for the auto deploy.

He is gonna call minn kota tomorrow and check but not seeing vids on youtube makes me think its not possible....all the vids are guys installing a Terrova...which I personally like. But, you have to figure if those guys could put on an ulterra they would?

Guess we'll see!

Think it is somewhere around $1000 difference between Terrova and Ulterra. If you just need spot lock, Terrova works just fine, The only big difference is the deployment.

But since this is for your pops, $$$ means little - it is all about comfort and convenience. I went from Terrova to Force just cause I hated pulling weeds off the stupid thing. I went from stick mount to electric mount on Livescope, again for convenience.

Beware of the auto stow/deploy . I know one guy that had it deploy on the highway and another had it deploy while the boat was on plane. Both resulted in trolling motors turned into candy canes

holy crap! ya, that wouldn't be any good...lol I will let him know.

Just wanted to update everyone in case anyone runs into this situation.

My dad was told by the Tracker mechanics here that they CAN install the ulterra on the classic tracker XL. They basically said they would pull the old one, fill the mount holes from the old one and put on the new bracket for the ulterra. He is pretty happy about it.

He is also getting a Lowrance  HDS 9 Live for the front of the boat. I was making fun of him cause the accessories is like 1/2 the price of his boat..lol

Side note: The boat cover that comes with the tracker does NOT fit with the ulterra. So, we have to get that figured out now!

Glad to hear ? Check out a local upholstery shop near by, they can usually modify the cover.

It should be possible. The Ulterra and Terrova I believe use the same bolt pattern. My dad has installed a few of each for family friends on PT175's and they are somewhat of a pain due to not having a much room to access up front. Be prepared for some skinned up arms. They can also be installed with a quick release bracket to avoid the cover issue if needed. Personally, I think I'd rather have the cover modified, but that depends on how you use it.

I'm thinking of doing something similar to my Grizzly 1648. The Maxxum 70 that's been on it since 2014 is still working just fine, but I must have some money burning a hole in my pocket. Bring on the spot lock, etc.

In 2014 I drove the new boat from BassPro to my buddy's garage to carpet and rig it. His 1990-something Polar Kraft 1648 is in the background. His original Maxxum 70 is still working as of two days ago when he last had it out.

Only crazy person would put 7k worth of electronics on a 7k boat.?

I put an Ulterra on a Tracker Pro-170. It fits but I had a small issue with it splitting the weld on the bow of the boat. Other than peeling the front of the boat apart, it worked out fine ?. The aluminum on the front couldn't handle the bouncing from the weight of the motor. This may have been an isolated issue but keep an eye on it. I had to weld the seam under the motor and I added some extra aluminum sheeting over the seam.

Ulterras don't like cold climates either.  The OP is in Washington, so I am not sure how "cold" it gets when he fishes.  But I know anglers here that originally went with an Ulterra but switched to a Terrova after one season because all those moving parts had failures in cold temps.

Many years ago my Uncle had a Minn Kota Genesis which was the original auto stow and deploy model of bow mount.  That thing was in the shop every month getting worked on.  He finally just scrapped it and went with a manual version.

With a good drill,  some heavy bolts and lots of duct tape any trolling motor can be mounted to any boat.  ?

That said,  I would think twice about the Ultera.  If you want to add a different transducer or a live imaging transducer the wiring is awkward if not impossible.
