Dobyns Fury vs Bass X vs Mojo

Recently, I created a post on here asking whether or not I should get the 702SF Med/Light Fury rod from Dobyns and it was nothing but positive feedback about the rod. So, I guess what I'm asking is, between the Fury, Bass X, and Mojo, which one should I pick up and why? I'm trying to find the best out of the three for finesse fishing. I'm just getting started with finesse fishing. Thanks in advance.

Mojo 6'10" MLXF - that's the one I've picked to replace my 702SF next year (out of funds this year).

Any particular reason? I'm not able to test these out myself at the moment.

My local Fleet Farm has them in stock...I played with it a bit there and like 3 things about it above the Fury

1: Lighter - 3.6oz vs 4.3 (16% reduction in weight)

2: More balanced - they let me temporarily put a reel on it for some testing.

3: I think the faster tip will help with hook-sets.

 

And it's not much more for the Mojo - $150 vs $130 for the Fury.

What kind of Finesse Fishing (Drop Shot, Split Shot, Flick Shake, Ned Rig, Neko Rig, Hair Jig, Spybait ?) and Will it be your only Spinning Rod ?

Yeah, it will be my only spinning combo. Also, I'd like to do a majority of the finesse presentations, I fish from the bank and pretty much only fish creeks and rivers. I'd like to essentially create a do it all combo. If I had to guess, I would be throwing anything between 1/8 - 1/2 Ounce, but I've only seen the Veritas that goes to 1/16 of an ounce to 1/2 Ounce.

Not to further complicate things but the Daiwa Tatula(the cork handle one) might be worth considering as well in this price range.

My first finesse spin rod was a Phenix Maxim. 7-3 med.  

 

I still love the thing.  It is super sensitive. Kinda ugly but whatever. I have more fish on that rod than the rest combined.

Okay , Was the Veritas your first choice ?

No, when I was looking for affordable combo's I had seen the Dobyns Fury Medium Light get a lot of love, so I believe that's the one I'll end up getting. But, I was just wondering between the three listed, well four including the veritas, which of these would be the best for that all around spinning combo.

I fish a spinning rod with three fingers in front of the reel stem, so I hate a spinning rod with the screw threads at the front. I like Dobyns rods, but not their spinning rods for that reason.

 

The Tatulas and Bass X have a foregrip, so that automatically makes me like them more. I don't like the plastic handle of the Bass X so that leaves me with the Tatula.

 

Other ones I like are the Falcon Lowrider, St. Croix Victory. I like a Phenix Feather too since they have no exposed threads on the grip.

All of those fishing rods are very good performers and I’ve owned the St Croix Mojo (the 7ft Medium Spinning) and a few of the Veritas (6ft6 and 7ft Medium) . The Mojo was slightly more sensitive and balanced slightly better, but the Veritas is more than sensitive enough and far more durable in my experience (which is always a good thing when fishing from shore) .

The Mojo Bass or Tatula are both far superior in every way to the Dobyns Fury spinning rods.

My gripe with the Fury line is weight. They are HEAVY. I've used St. Croix Avid, Mojo, Legend Tournament and have settled on Ark. For a ML rod, it's hard to beat my 6'10" MLXF Lancer Pro. The price is right too, $99. I'd also check out the Tatula, even the XT model with black EVA grips. They are lightweight and sensitive.

Take the Bass X completely out of consideration. Rod sucks. Mojo is great though.
