Plastic lizards have always had a reputation for two things:                                        1. Catching spawning bass.     2. Catching large bass.                   Are you going to be using any plastic lizards this spring? If so, what size, brand, and colors?

I fish Zoom Mag 8" Lizards extensively at night during the summers.   Perhaps my number one bait.

My PB and only DD came off a black 8" variety.

I'd say both of your conclusions are spot on, but I've never understood why people limit themselves to throwing them only in the Spring.

I have dozens of bags of 6" models too.   Besides a 6 or 7" Roboworm, if it's dragging on the bottom, it's gonna be a lizard from me most times.    They just seem to catch bigger fish for me.

Colors:  Junebug, Watermelon Red, Greenpumpkin with red flake, black, and my personal favorite Blackgrape.

I bought some 8" Berkley Powerbait Power Lizards in both Cotton Candy and and Watermelon Red.

I haven't used the Watermelon ones yet, but I've caught a good amount of cold water bass using the Cotton Candy on a Carolina Rig.

Lizards are my number one C-rig bait. My favorite are Zooms. Regular and magnums.

I also throw them weightless when pond fishing. They can clean up like that. I like the small Zoom lizards for this.

I use lizards as flipping baits year round. They are awesome baits on the fall in heavy cover. Those little legs and the tail wiggle all the way to the bottom.  My best color is Zoom Chartreuse Pumpkin. When everyone in the free world is throwing June Bug, I'm catching fish.

I throw lizards spring, summer and fall. Usually on a Carolina rig, always Zoom green pumpkin unless the water is ultra clear. Then it's still Zoom, but in cotton candy with a chartreuse tail.

Not even sure who makes them but I buy em at Ann's Tackle in Jasper Texas. They are 7.5" & I buy a 50 count bag.

Black-n-blue tail, blue glitter in the body, silver glitter in the tail.

Black Neon (red glitter)

Watermelon Slice

Sapphire Blue (spring)

I use to throw them a lot more than I do now . What will  this year bring  , who knows, lures get hot and cold for me . I just go with the flow.

30 years ago, I threw them pretty regularly. They were a Carolina-rig staple; pumpkinseed and pumpkin-chartreuse tail. I also pitched and flipped lizards quite a bit in darker colors around emergent vegetation. The only brand I ever bought was Zoom. But if I’ve picked up a lizard more than a handful of times over the last 20 years, I’d be surprised. I will toss the Zoom mini lizard on a Ned setup in spring in murky water, but that's about it.

I have not fished a lizard in a while for some reason, and I couldn't tell you why. If memory serves me I almost always did good when I used one. They are a really good choice in a lot of situations. I'm not convinced bass recognize them as a particular creature though.

I agree.  Bass see movement, hear sound and feel vibrations.  If it looks like something alive that will fit in their mouth, down it goes.  The main reason bass don't hit your lure is you are not fishing close enough to the fish. Often that's inches.

Don’t have lizards currently.

Lizards are the original “creature”

bait and worked good. Berkley 8” Power Lizards black red flake is all I used T-rigged with bullet weight. Bed lure we sliced a sideways slot in the body and inserted alka-seltzer tablet to fizz.

I always have a 8" Zoom lizard rigged on the boat usually green pumpkin with  a bit of chartreuse marker/dye on the tail and usually this rig produces the larger bass, but not always. My zoom baby brush hog is a close second.

It has been a long time since I threw a lizard. I'm planning to try them some this year. All of mine are Zoom lizards. I have 6" Junebug chartreuse, green pumpkin ,watermelon seed, and pumpkin chartreuse. I just ordered some in 4" to try when I am fishing where I can catch Smallmouth.

What a revelation they must have been at the time. Hard for me to imagine a time when there was naught but grubs and worms on the plastics market.

I mostly throw them in spring then switch over to strictly Game Hawgs rest of year.

Rage Tail - Green Pumpkin, Watermelon, Junebug
Zoom - Pumpkin, Red Bug, and Moccasin Blue

For years, the only way I used them was on a C-rig. Then about ten years ago, I started fishing them on a true Texas rig at night. First time out I caught three bass over 18in. and four more decent ones in one hour.  I began using them occasionally during daylight outings and although they didn't produce numbers for me, like jigs, they produced big fish.

Kinda strange compared to most of you folks. I threw Zoom lizards for a couple of years on C rig, and never got so much as a tug on them, hence, I gave up on em. May try them again once I can get back to fishing.

I went back to them a couple of years ago. Zoom and Yum are my favs. White, pumpkin chartreuse, pumpkin fire and junebug chartreuse. They work all year. Hopefully I can get strong enough to fish them this year.
