Guide for Okeechobee - Sept 3 or 4th - Recommendations?

I'll be in Florida for the week of Sept 3rd for a conference and I have two days to tick off a bucket list item, fish the big O! I'm looking for recommendations for guide services for a single 8 hour day, I've also never hired a guide. No gear with be brought with me to FL, the guide will have to have the necessary gear.

 

Who have you used in the past? What should I expect weather wise in FL at that time? Tips?

Okeechobee weather in early September will be hot and muggy.   Hurricane season is June though November.  Water should be high.  Nasty thunderstorms in the afternoon.   Fishing should be good early. October is better.

Thanks, I'll have to roll the dice as it's my own chance this year. How does the high water affect the bass since the lake is pretty shallow?

High water (by Okeechobee standards) will spread them out which can make it tougher especially if you don’t know the lake. 
But a guide will know.

The key to catching bass in Lake Okeechobee is finding clean water.  When the water is high, bass follow the rising water and go back into the shallows.   They hunker down in heavy cover to escape the heat.  A good guide will know where to find fish.

Weather will be the wild card! September is one of the more unstable months. Hot and very humid is a given. Get out early. Storms can be severe and usually happen in the afternoon. The guide will know how to read the sky.

Captain Cody Davis seems like he really knows the Lake O area. He lives on the lake, grew up there and has a ton of video's on Youtube about lake O that are very informative. Might wanna check him out. No affiliation.

Cody should have been on my list above. 
Very good guide but you’ll need to reserve early
