Super User Darth-Baiter Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 I had a "thing" Jan and Feb. part of it was that I couldn't sleep. I quit coffee cold turkey. I cut out anything that resembled caffeine. chocolate, some teas etc. once all that BS was mitigated. I slowly started up. dang it if that first cup after a two month coffee-ban wasn't a total elixir of luxury. it was so delicious! now, I am one cup. maybe a half cup "reheat". but that is it. my office has a hot pot going all day long. I dont visit it ever and stopped contributing to the coffee fund altogether. you? how much? 2 Quote
padlin Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Working life (nights), I'd guess 6 or so. Retired life, 2 before noon. If I have one later it screws up sleeping. 1 Quote

Super User Bird Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 Never drank a single cup of coffee until retirement. Now I drink a half cup each morning, that's it. I can't even drink a coke in the evening or will be up all night.? 1 Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I have had exactly one cup of coffee in my life....exchange student got me an iced coffee...I had to drink it...ick. Used to drink caffeinated soda like it was water as a youngster and in to high school. Noticed the high's and low's...so swapped out to caffeine free...then quit soda/pop all together in college. About all I drink is water with the occasional adult beverage maybe once a month. I'm a morning person and generally up and going before sunrise. Quote

Iced coffee is NOT coffee one cup a day first thing in the morning. I’ve had a second cup midday a few times and was entirely too hyper 2 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 I average about a pot a day - that's 12 of the 'mini' cups they measure it by, but only 4 of my mugs worth. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 14, 2023 Global Moderator Posted March 14, 2023 All day long When it’s 90 deg and everyone grabs a beer or soda I’ll have a cup. Caffeine never bothered me. I’ll have an expresso, or French press late in the evening and sleep all night. Mike 5 Quote
Super User gim Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 I drink about 3-4 cups (about 8 ounces each) every morning. When I'm out and about, fishing, hunting, etc, I have a Yeti travel mug that holds 30 ounces. Rarely do I drink any after lunch time. Straight black in french roast. Like liquid tar. No sugar, cream, sweeteners, flavors, etc. Growing up, my Mother always had coffee on (still does), so naturally it was pretty much always available. I hated it when I was younger. Thought it tasted like mud. Since about age 16, I've had it pretty much every day of my life. People that don't drink coffee are weird. My Mother in Law won't touch it. She's weird, even though I married her daughter. 1 2 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 One large pot. It's all I can do not to brew another one late in the day, but I've set that as my limit. 1 Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 we make about a 10-cup pot almost every day. When we are both working from home or on a weekend I drink 6-7 cups of it. When I'm home alone usually drink all of it. Quote

Nothing fancy, seven scoops of Folgers or Maxwell House, whichever is on sale....often one of those scoops will be vanilla flavor Folgers. No milk, cream, sugar or anything else 1 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 I put 16 oz of water into my 4 cup coffee maker every morning and that’s is normally all the coffee I drink all day. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 Two cups in the morning. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 Ahhhh, the “nectar of the gods” as I enjoy a cup of Peets while I type my reply. I’ve been drinking coffee daily since I was 12 when I’d get up at 0500 and start folding my papers before peddling off and begin my paper route. Later, it was just part of the work culture no matter the job. Now it seems energy drinks are preferred by some people instead of coffee. 1 Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted March 14, 2023 Super User Posted March 14, 2023 I didn't drink coffee until about 6 months ago. Some weeks its maybe 2 cups a week some weeks its 2 cups a day 4 or 5 days. Then I will have a time where I realize I haven't had any or any caffeine at all for that matter in like 2-3 weeks. Real spotty with me. Quote
Chilidog Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I drink about 4 - 5 cups a day. I'm a better person when I drink coffee Quote
