What are your favorite adhesives to glue soft plastics to jig heads? I'm asking because my experience with super glue products has been less than pleasant. Usually after a couple of uses, the nozzle dries up and renders the remainder useless. Either that or I glue my fingers to the jig. I need to move on to a better system. What are your thoughts? What is a dependable product?

thanks

If you go to dollar tree they have a pack of generic super glue in like .1 oz packs. You get like 3-5 pa is for $1. I use them most so even if they dry out you don’t waste much. One pack will last a day

Ditto NorthernBasser.

I carry a straightened out paper clip to break through hardened glue when that starts happening, which it always does after awhile in my experience.

This is the right answer, it's like $2 or so, skip the cheapie multi pack tube things, they don't work as well, and they dry up once opened.

I used to use the small .1 oz tubes from Harbor Fright but have switched to the Loctite Gel.

The Gel lasts longer in the bottle and I can just remove the cap and use it. I also think it is stronger than the adhesive in the small tubes.

I quit using it because last summer it would dry up in a couple of trips.  I started making bait keepers on my jigs.  They hold the bait in place and allow me to change if I want to.

Yep.  Same for me too.  I keep one in the boat, one in the truck, and one in the house.  It takes forever before the nozzle is unusable and even then just cut a little off the tip and you're good again.

This is what I use - hobby shops will buy this and put their own labels on it...I'm going on my 3rd year with a single bottle. Make sure you get the gap-filling...BSI has lots of varieties of CA glue.

Super Glue Gel but I've been using the Rapid Fishing Solutions Hook All disk on offset hooks and they work well.

Gorilla glue gel has worked well and lasted for me. The cap has a metal pin that goes into the hole to keep the nozzle clear. Heard a lot of good things about the Avid Anglers super glue but have not tried it yet.

this is the right stuff for sure.  Lasts forever and the bottle and nozzle prevent it from drying out prematurely.  i use it for fly tying a lot and it may sit unused for a month or two and it is always good to go when I pop the cap off.

The stuff has saved me a couple of times from going to the ER and getting stitches

I buy nail glue with a brush applicator on Amazon. It works as well as super glue and it's easy to apply with the brush. It costs about $6-$7 a bottle and works as well as super glue gel.

I switched to SuperGlue Gel a few seasons ago because I grew frustrated sticking my fingers to the jig/hook shaft. I'm going to check out the Loctite gel this season.

Any of the gel ones seem to dry the quickest.  Seem the less messiest too. I’ve tried gorilla glue and lock tite super glue gel.  Both worked good

For the purposes of fishing the gel super glue is a lot easier to use and holds better because it can hold its shape and doesn’t make a thin film however because traditional super glue is so minimally viscous it can get in the microscopic nooks and crannies of things effectively increasing the surface area it is engaging with which makes it drastically stronger than gel super glue.

Another tip to keep the superglue from drying out is to keep it in the fridge between fishing trips. The moisture in the air is what activates the glue.
