Suffix Advance is a large diameter per lb test mono line little or no different then Big Game imo.

Sunline Shooter Diefer Armilo is a small diameter Nylon mono with higher strength per dia then any other mono line available. Very smooth long casting with good abrasion and high knot : impact strength. It’s pricey but outlast other mono.

Always open to finding better line as the state of the always changing.

Maybe Sunline will offer Armilo in lower # test like 9 or 7# soon?

Because of WRB's recommendations, just bought a spools of the Regular Defier in 13 lb. Just spooled it onto my jerk bait rod. Also purchased some Sunline super natural in 8lb to try on one of my spinning rigs. If anyone is keeping score, Sunline is pretty much the thinnest line out there. Sunline sniper, super natural, defier and defier armillo all have the same line diameter. Maybe others, just never looked at their specs. The other line I am trying out is Pline C21 copolymer. This is also very thin line, not as thin as Sunline but very close. I fished the Pline a little bit this weekend, kind of springy, jumped off my spool a bit but eventually settled down.

Totally not true. Stretch isn't even comparable .I've tested the advantage and it Stretch's around 13 percent and that happens close to max pressure. Most mono including bg Stretch's 20 to 30 percent.

You mind is made up use what you have confidence in.

No test procedure exist for % of line stretch. Suggest Testing at your drag force setting applying force in seconds not minutes or hours.

All mono and FC line yields around 30% to 35% of tensile strength.

You measure 10 feet of line and stretch it with a scale of it gets a foot longer that's 10 percent. I'm not knocking bg. It's great line. I used it for years. But to say there is no difference is totally inaccurate. And yes if I don't use something it doesn't mean it sucks it just means I like something better.

I have both, they really live in different parts of the toolbox for me.

Advance:
is really inexpensive, really does have low stretch with the "I pulled on it then pulled on some other line" non-scientific test, acts more like flouro in the water than mono to me. Probably because of the HMPE which is the input material for braid. For the naysayers, it's not by a little bit, it's really obvious how different it is on stretch and you don't need a micrometer to tell. Treat it like a co-poly line. And yes KVD L&L really helps, like it does on most co-poly.

But a little more like neutral than sinking. Every now and then a spool will get a weird shedding like string cheese, but it's so cheap relative to performance it's not that big of a deal. Throw it away or send it back and keep moving. Basically it sits where I'd want flouro. And that's what happened for me, I replaced it with flouro. Although as I'm thinking about it, it could be a great moving-bait single-hook line.

Not-pro tip - double turn uni knot on it is great, SDJ is horrible. Can't explain it, but that was very consistent. I was yelling at the lake about breakoffs, and as soon as I switched knots it was rock solid. Also, it is so much bigger than it's marked weight it is almost comical - 12 lb advance is 17lb tatsu, in diameter.

Armilo:

It is the Tatsu of mono. Amazing, small diameter, etc etc. It is a super-premium line.

X2

Armilo just coils up way too much, even with line conditioner. Shooter Defier just casts alot further and smoother.

At 14.99$ a spool I wouldn't call it inexpensive. The price of sunline is just way to high IMHO.

Use them both quite a bit. Defier Armilo is my favorite treble hook line ever. It’s pricey, but it’s also extremely durable for a nylon line. There are trade offs with nylon lines, but extremely good handling and durability don’t usually go hand in hand. It does with Armilo. It’s that good and the fact it lasts so long factors into cost….Advance is decent- one of the most sensitive nylon lines Ived used. I also seem to find way more noticeable knicks and rough spots using advance fishing the same waters as armilo and Yozuri Hybrid. Yes it’s cheaper than armilo, but you’ll be respooling much faster.

An online retailer has Armilo for 14 and change. They also have the regular Shooter Defier for 23 and change. They are both good lines.

Advance to me gets the nod. Sensitivity is better compared to most Mono/Copoly/FC lines. It's thicker, but I go by diameter and not pound ratings. I buy bulk spool 1200 yards on sale from TW and Rapala for under $20. Crazy value, no need for overrated FC, only time I run FC is when I need the line help lure sink or hold the lure down (Cover scat, suspending jerkbaits, slow float swimbaits).
