@Captain Phil, I just bought your favorite lure. How do you fish it? Twitch? Walk it? Steady retrieve?

The BangOLure has been around for a long time.  It comes in a number of sizes and colors. BangOLures are made of balsa, so they float high and have lots of action.  It's like a Rapala only fatter and the hooks are better.  Here in Florida, gold foil is the best color.  In the larger sizes it is definitely a big fish bait.  I like to twitch it on top and let it pause.

@Darth-Baiter, I'm thinking of buying your Chopkicker. Until you mentioned it, I didn't know that such a thing existed. It looks great. Expensive, but great and by great, it looks like it would make a sound that most bass have never heard.

exactly.  el choppo or whoppers must be familiar by now.  on the CA Delta only the biggest whopper plopper seems to get any attention these days.  i can throw my "next size down" whopper and my friend and i standing next to each other.  only he gets hits.  he thinks his makes the lower chug noise.

dunno.  i am gonna stand next to him and Chopkick some bass up!!  plus i like the Luremaker.  he just seems like a cool dude.  and the back of his lure packaging is all warm and fuzzy.  very "green".  i'll let you see for yourself.

The fish were familiar with them many years ago after Chris Lane used one to win an elite event on Toledo bend. River2sea marketed the heck out of them, and people like me got sucked in.

You tossing the 190 size for bass out there? That one is in my muskie box. Ain’t no bass big enough here to hit that monstrosity.

That version was the original one that Larry Dahlberg used for muskie fishing. It’s been around many more years than the smaller “bass” versions. River2sea realized they could make smaller versions that catered to the bass crowd…and of course a lot more money too.

I just tried these the other day. It was all they would hit. That little blade seems to make a big difference. Water has been really muddy, and it seems the blade makes the difference.

I'm partial to the 105 sized Choppo.  I think they have a better action than the WP, plus they're a couple bucks cheaper.   Also have a few 120 sized Choppos, and a pair of 5.1" Drunken Mullets from Chasebait that were on sale at Scheels.  Big smallies have no problem smashing the big top water lures.

Also kicks butt in clear water.   2.8 keitech or 3” spark shad will catch anything, bass, pike, crappie, perch, bluegill.

Smithwick Buck ‘N Brawl rear prop wooden lure is unique and the only vintage prop bait I still use.

You can find it on EBay, update the hooks!

This lure underside front surface is flat making it easy to walk and worked like a jerk bait it will dive a few inches under water then jump up like a panicked bait fish.,, nothing else like it?

I ordered some more already. Same thing happened yesterday. I got 5 on a swimjig, then they shut off. Put on an Okashira blade and got 3 more. What is it about this little jighead?

They ignored my underspin!

i'll take this one Waymont.

we are talking about the Okishira jig prop-jig head.  thumbsup.  its a prop..not a spin.  meets the spirit of this discussion.

You don’t need collector quality or in box lures. Buck n Brawl in used condition sell for about $7-$9. Easy to paint them a Shad color,
