My wife and I have a concerige doctor and he believes in herbal medicines, vitamins, and minerals to keep you healthy.

One of the physicians in his practice  penned the following in their monthly newsletter that I thought was interesting.

Here is what dr. Febish penned:

A WORD FROM DR. FEBISH Dia duit (dee-ahgwit) (Irish Gaelic) Greetings!

I really love the month of March, the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and the Celtic people who have a rich history in herbalism. They brought many spices and herbs for healing to grow in this country.

My family was a part of the clans that were considered botanist, herbalist and healers in Ireland. Many generations of cooks in Ireland used common herbs and spices in their dishes for top notch taste with the following health benefits.

Caraway seeds – A remedy for colic and digestive issues.

Thyme – This herb may help with bacterial and fungal infections. It may also relieve coughing and has antioxidant effects.

Parsley – A powerful diuretic and can help reduce bloating and high blood pressure.

Rosemary – This herb is good for learning, memory, anxiety, mood balancing and sleep.

Sage – May help with menopausal symptoms and lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels. It is said to support memory and brain function, may lower cholesterol and protects against certain cancers.

I have IBS and took prescription pills for it which helped a bit but would back me up. My wife gave me peppermint pills to take. What a life changer it’s been! I can now eat my trigger foods, eggs being the only one I still have to be careful with. They help with heartburn too.

per pound, nothing has more vitamins and stuff than herbs.

just this past Wednesday, some dude went to the coffee shop and got a giant cup of hot water.  he then proceeds to open up a plastic bag pulling out various herbs.  he perfumed the entire airport. I gestured at him and he handed me leaves to taste.  I chewed on a d**n cornucopia of stuff I had no idea the name of.  opposite covid protocols..hahah..I packed a few sticks in my carry on and my wife smelled it immediately.

I'm  born from old school Chinese parents and we do herbs to the nth level.  soups, etc.

My father in-law was a GM at a plant in China and would bring my wife back bags of herbal tea all the time. It almost always smelled good when she would steep them (or whatever you call it) some of it didn’t taste bad, most had a bitter taste. No clue what any of it was because it wasn’t written in English. She enjoyed it and is into those things, me, not so much.
