I have a 14 foot jon boat, and I sit on the back bench, with my trollong motor behind me. I was wondering where or how I could mount a fish finder, any suggestions? thanks!!!

When I had my 11' boat, I mounted like a foot from the back seat to the side of boat up high as could go. Pain to see when trolling on opposite side of finder but thought that was best suited.

I have a 12 jon. I mounted the unit to a piece of wood and can move it where I want. I usually use a very small c clamp and clamp it to the front bench. as for the transducer I have it screwed to the end of a 1x3 and clamp it to the side of the boat right beside me. It is very redneck :D but it works and I let a friend borrow it from time to time. I use it to fish strip pit lakes. It all fits in a duffle bag and I keep to cables tie wrapped with the length I need loose and the coils in the bag.

Very redneck!

I have a 11' crawdad with the trolling motor mounted on the bow. Which is where I usually fish from. I just took a dryer vent clamp & mounted the transducer on the trolling motor. Don't know if that will work if its behind you instead of in front? My boat came rigged that way, with a on/off foot pedal. Nothing fancy but it works! Then mounted the fish finder on the bow also, there is small plastic bench in front of me. Everything is right in front of me when I'm fishing.

If you decide to put motor on the bow, you will need a rudder on the transom, to keep the back end from fish tailing when you turn.
