My Problem With YouTube Fishing Videos...

I'll answer my last question. I don't like long lead-ins. Treat the viewer with respect and start sharing what you know ASAP. I also hate when they lose a fish and say, "That was a monster!" Little fish come unbuttoned too. 

Pet peeve of mine is intro music!!! You aren't stone cold Steve Austin just get to the fishing or whatever your agenda for that video is ??.

I used to watch a lot of YouTube vids but everyone is trying to sell me something now and I have a whole pack of monkeys sitting on my shoulder. So I stay away from YouTube videos for the most part now.

I shoot and edit video for a living, I’ve long thought about starting a fishing YouTube channel. I have a notebook full of ideas. But, I’ll be honest, I use fishing as therapy and a stress release. It’s my time to get away from work, so I’ve resisted the urge. Also, I don’t understand how people can qualify tacticalbassin as educational. They seem like good dudes living a great life and having a good time. We should be so lucky. But they really are just tackle peddlers.

It's a personal choice that I somehow never noticed. I have no great issue either way. I'm a kayak guy and 98% of the time I wear a PFD. But to be honest I don't think I'm any more likely to go in the water than a Bass boat guy and they never wear PFDs when just fishing. IMO he's what fishing ought to be. 

 

All the yelling, racing around in tournaments, chucking fish around is less appealing. 

 

I've watched a few Milliken fishing videos and the guy knows his stuff, but seems miserable and treats Bass with zero reverence or respect. It's a bit off putting. Maybe it's just a job for him? Doesn't seem in tune with nature at all.

When I started watching Milliken several years ago he was just a fisherman. He's originally from my part of the country so he often times fished places I personally know, so that was always cool. Then he got popular and went all click bait googanesque with his videos. Now he's a joke...and kind of a puke.

I enjoy videos from Glen, the TB guys (although they have been repeating subject matter and content too much, IMHO), and FTM. They are informative. You have to realize they are trying to sell certain brands of certain lures, rods and reels, then take it with a grain of salt. Also like Matt Stefan, knowing he too is promoting some sponsors. 

Would also like more videos on finding fish. Catching them is usually easier for me than finding them, especially in the summertime in a highland reservoir.

There is one guy mentioned earlier that I Unsubscribed to and quit watching after he kept repeating himself frequently, and was constantly letting us in on "secrets" the pros use ( he has revealed dozens of "secrets"). Really?  Come on, man!

totally legit response. 

 

I just kinda think if he is an influencer, and he is..he should kinda lead by example.   just my own opinion.  the PFD thing needs better PR anyway it can get it.

 

and you honestly think your chances of falling out of a boat is the same as in a kayak?  how big is your kayak?!
