I got mine today, as much as I like BPS, I must say that like the past few Classic sales, this isn't a strong ad. A lot of the same stuff. Looks like with the exception of the Diawa Regal LT spinning reel, Diawa and Shimano aren't allowing BPS to include their products in the trade in program. A lot of stuff is only discounted if you're a member of their "Club", meaning you have one of their credit cards and use it at the point of purchase. I don't believe in using credit so I'm out. To each his own, I just prefer paying for everything with cash.

We pay all our credit cards every month, and as a result we get about $1,000 in cash back every year.

Dave Ramsey only goes off about credit cards because for a lot of people, money spent by card doesn’t feel “real.” That’s just never been a problem for me.

Anyway, I use a Cabela’s card occasionally. I’ll be able to take advantage of the better pricing.

Berkley seemed to have some of the best discounts, besides BPS branded stuff.

Mine came in the mail as well **snore** very little I'm interested in, and those things I would want are out of the budget this year.

I have one credit card and it's paid off every month...don't want any more. Most of my purchases are on a debit card...if I don't have the money for it now, it has to wait.

Maybe a few things from Berkley and some Senkos but not much else happening for me. There are some good deals on electronics. I don't have any of their rain gear but I always hear good things about it. This is usually the best time to get a good deal on it.

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed either. Some decent sales on some of the baits and tackle. I stopped doing the trade-in program when I started realizing it only equated to about a 10-15% discount. Figured I can get that deal elsewhere and keep my old stuff to give to family or friends.

Don't get me wrong,... I still go with a couple friends. Makes a fun day to hang out, look at fishing gear, and grab some lunch. Just don't make as big of purchases as I used to.

Mine came today too.  Slightly underwhelmed.  I took advantage of their rod/reel trade in last year and bought new rain gear, so I don't foresee any sizable purchases this time around.

I'll probably buy some senkos and sufix 832 while I wait for them to re-spool some reels.  Rapala being 50% off is pretty good, but I really have no interest in their products at this time.

Even if I don't end up buying much, this Spring Sale usually kick starts my mind into spring mode.  So its still a moral victory on the calendar.

I agree, kinda puts me in springtime moods to. I might buy some Rocco's and Slim's. May get some BPS grubs too.

I have the cabelas black card which I pay off every month. I use the points to buy christmas presents. I think I will switch to a capitol one cash back as then I can spend wherever I please. I used to be against credit, but since I pay as soon as I get the notice, it is nice. I have it hooked to my debit card. I like the fact that when a shop is not treating you nice, capitol will fight for you.

I have the Cabelas Card only so I get points to use on stuff down the road. Plus there are occasional 10% discounts when you use the card online or in store. I manage all of my cards very carefully to get the best deals or more cash back. I pay off the cards every month except when there is free interest — for example I bought two 126s and other stuff on Cyber Monday. I got 12% Rakuten cash rebate (it just came) of about $600 and an additional 450 points or so from Cabelas. And no interest for 12 months. That's about $1000 off on a little more than $3000 in purchases.

I usually thumb through their flyers then they go into the recycle stack.  I bought a Panfish Elite rod a few weeks back using gift cards.  I have some rods and reels I wouldn't mind parting with as trade-ins, but I didn't want to trade in my equipment just to be told what I am looking for is out of stock.

Hey Bankbeater, have you had the chance to use that rod yet?  I was eyeballing that one.

Yes, I can get a 1/16 Rooster Tail out about 30 feet.  I did catch a very small bass, but it was not a good test since the bass was too small to even bend a UL rod.

Any chance of it casting a 1/32 oz crappie jig?   Sometimes they just need that light jighead in the spring around here.  Does it seem like a quality rod?

One word...Meh.

What has happened to the BPS Spring Classic and Black Friday sales??? Why waste time, money and paper(trees) to send those out and 80% of the content is just regular priced items and very, very little worth of things on sale. And most times now, the only thing(s) on sale are Rapala, Strike King lures. I've seen the patterns on their sales flyers. They even show new BPS lures like the XPS Swerve glide bait, ok I'm interested. But listing it on the Spring Classic flyer at regular price????

BPS if you happen to troll these posts, you as a company are losing more people who just find your sales as...Meh.

I've run into that before. I then started going in and confirming they had what I wanted before trading in my things. If they did, I have them hold them and run out to get my trade-ins.

Keep in mind that if you are at Bass Pro and also have a Cabelas in the area (or vice/versa) you can take your trade-in coupons over to the other store and get stuff there.

We go to Bass Pro in Cincinnati and there is also a Cabelas right down the road. We've traded in at one, and if they didn't have what we wanted, we ran over to the other and appkied them there to items.

@Fishin Dad I have 2 of the panfish elite rods 7’-2” light and 6’-8” ultralight and I throw pre rigged 1/32 ounce jig heads with a little boot tail plastic (Northland Tackle Slurpies), on the ultralight. As far as the quality I don’t own high end rods but I’m very happy with these rods, the Fuji guides are straight and cleanly wrapped and I’m very happy with the Fuji handle also. 1DAF2ED1-5461-4A1C-B82C-B0EAF8770726.jpeg.59a705b384de47e66aa25152603869e7.jpegDD873638-6215-4866-B7BF-621F5A7128ED.jpeg.f9f5e607f8386703cad3c0205fa087f9.jpegD7FF5775-2F92-48FC-A9F9-345538BC5405.jpeg.2f2d6990d360250af9bbe260ef79c517.jpeg

Eric 26.  Thank for the info on those.  I might have to grab one on the sale and give it a go.   I need another ultralight set up when I take my family out for crappies.   It sounds like these will fit the bill.  Appreciate it.

Meh, I think a some 3 for $10 Pad crashers, and some 4 for $12 boxes (with the $10 off $50 plus military discount) will be the extent of it for me, but maybe I'll get crazy and get a couple of packs of bobber stoppers too... :)

BPS used to have some good sale prices on Seaguar FC, but not anymore.  When a new reel is set to come out they will liquidate their existing stock sometimes almost a year ahead of time, but they dont always advertise it.  They did it with the Ballistic Ex for 100$ the previous Curado 70 was 150$ and they had the CI4+ for 150$.  The only thing BPS really wants to push is their brand, because that's what they have the highest profit margins on.

*I agree (snore) mostly - the slightly reduced Carbon Stick 2.0 rods are mildly of interest .
