There have been photos of them in the pros boats. I will definitely have to get a couple if they aren't over $250

I hate how these rods look. I was hoping the new models wouldn't be all gray like the last ones. The cork grips help some but I don't think many models have them. I hate it too because the Daiwa MHRB and glass rods are amazing general purpose moving bait and crankbait rods.

But from a marketing perspective it makes sense. When someone sees the rod, they know exactly what it is - kind-of like the bright white Ducketts.

I don't mind the T2 colored Daiwa rods - they certainly aren't my favorite color but they are good rods.

I didn’t see the Ehler m/mh rod that I have listed in the new models.

I don't disagree at all. There's just something about it I find very off-putting. It might be as simple as the gray eva grips. I will have to see the cork models in person to see if it's the grips, the blanks or both. I've used enough Daiwa rods to know that these are great rods, I just can't get past the color.

This...a real turn-off ☹️?

I see they assigned the 7'6" ML-M spinning rod to Chris Johnston and it's no longer sports the AGS guide train and instead comes with Fuji Alconite guides now, but that model now costs $100 less. I do like the cork instead of EVA (at least as far as being functionally more to my liking).

If the silver color rod is for letting anyone around you know that you're fishing with Tatula Elite rods, I don't think we should be doing their marketing for them and pay extra for them to make the rods stand out like they do. If it has a functional advantage, I'm willing to listen. Reminds me of Canon "L" lenses being white. It has been suggested that it is a marketing thing, but I also know from first hand experience that a white lens stays MUCH cooler in bright sunlight than a black lens does and the difference is quite dramatic. Not saying that fishing rods act the same because I haven't had dark colored rods feel like they were getting too warm being in direct sunlight.

Price was $189 across the board on the site.

I agree.  The Tatula is my favorite spinning rod for sure.  I would have bought some elites but theyre hideous.  The cork helps, but it doesnt help all that much.  Daiwa knows how to make a beatiful rod, just look at the rebellion.  I wish they would go to a darker grey almost like the Victories.

Exactly! The Rebellion rods are beautiful and in the same price range. To me they look like they should cost double what the Elites cost.

What about the silver to black fade we saw on the leaked pics?  Are there no pictures of the whole rod?  It's that paint and thick epoxy that runs down the whole blank that makes the old tatula elite rods tip heavy.  I'd prefer a sanded naked blank once past the 2nd guide.  My gen 1 73mh tatula elite is more tip heavy than my old 2015 zodias rods.  I hope they fixed that with the new ones.

Old leaked full body pic of one of the rods from months ago.  These are probably pre production mules.  Looks like only this spinning rod gets the silver to black fade?  The rods being shown off by daiwa pros appear to have silver beyond the 1st guide.

New and old together.  You can see how that cork is going to look after some use.

To me nothing beats a black rod. The Powell Naked rods are as plain Jane as it gets (hence the same) but I love it. Mostly I love how it fishes but I like the look as well.

With that said, I don't mind the look of the Elite's at all. Same with the Ark Tharp Honey Badger series. That also has gray EVA foam grips, but it's also gray/silver, albeit darker than the Elite's.

What I can't do is white rods for whatever reason. And especially not the bright orange or neon green rods 13 Fishing and Lew's puts out.

Great, more money already spent ?

I have an arsenal of stuff here from very cheap to very expensive stuff, and I come back to my Tatula rods(and reels) every time.  Very hard to beat at that price point.

I guess if you get new rods/reels every year, you can let them hit and rub each other in the rod locker ?

I agree!   I really like a black stealth fighter look the best.  I don’t like any thread designs or anything.  Just simple and get the job done well.  I don’t mind the Tatula Elites etc, but agree that bright neon rods are no bueno.   I don’t want to draw attention when I set the hook.  I like to stay more incognito.
