I just thought that’s the way jb rods were supposed to be since I had no other experience. Makes me want to sell It to try something else. I always prefer more power. It’s an OKAY open water JB rod. But there are many better option IMO. Quote

Any suggestions in the under $150 range? I don’t jb that often. Just a short window in the winter. So don’t need anything that expensive. Quote

The deals might be drying up at this point for the Expride A's, but the 6' 10" Expride (A or B ) is the best Jerkbait rod I've ever used and I own a couple of them now. 1 Quote

You can find it on sale often but even at the retail price those Honey Badger rods are impressive. I have the Hammer. 1 Quote

I'll be using a Tat 150 which is heavier by a skosh, so it'll be perfect. Top 4 guides are micros. I fish straight mainline, so fine with me. Guides are nice and straight. No bow in the blank. I prefer a downward facing loop hook keeper, so bully for me. It's a true fast, not x-tra F, so that's good too. Liking it. We're dropping into the 20s later and tomorrow, so a stress test will have to wait a minute. 18 hours ago, NorthernBasser said: Nice, thanks! I do like the open style hook keeper. 4.7 oz is definitely on the heavy side for a 6'9 rod (tho it is a heavy, right?) but if it balances, that helps. I am a little worried now how heavy the 7'3 MH I ordered is going to be. Received my Daiwa 7’1” heavy today from Midway. Always well packaged and delivered in 3 days. Awesome! My daughter grabbed it and said, “ Dad, this feels heavier than your other rods”. She is used to dropshotting with a quality ML or M spinning rod however. I thought it was a little heavy, but at 7’1” and heavy power, it is acceptable. It is a nice looking rod with a quality build. *** author Walker Smith loved it for skipping. Sold me for the purchase. Hope Y’All love them and skip up some bigs!! 1 Quote

Cbump Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Did y’all get a receipt in the tube with the rod or just printing the order confirmation from email for the rebate? I didn’t get one in the tube. Quote

Cbump Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 For those that have more handled the 7’1” H. How would you feel about throwing spinnerbait on this rod? I currently use a Falcon Head Turner H F for spinnerbaits. I plan to use this Tat rod for finesse jigs. I currently have a Tat 150hs 7.3 with 15lb fc to swap between them. If the Tat Elite will work for spinnerbaits, I could eliminate the need to be swapping the reel around. Quote

That's cool, but they happen to be anyway. I measured the Elite's tip top ring at 1.61" or 4mm. RingLock Micro Tops (mudhole.com) 1 Quote
