Super User GreenPig Posted February 26, 2023 Super User Posted February 26, 2023 What takes 120 hours, 9 beers, five 30 oz mugs of coffee, 23 bottles of water, 40+ hours of flopping around in a tub of hot water, 11 Percocet, and 9 Soma to travel 8 - 10 inches? If you guessed "KIDNEY STONE". I'm sorry you know that immense pain and that it's 8 - 10" from your kidney to your bladder. But I just survived #40 something. Now back to fishing. 1 1 10 Quote

Got it I wasn't trying to cause problems. I'll adjust my post. I won't post here again. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted February 26, 2023 Super User Posted February 26, 2023 Had one in May of 2020.....worst pain I've ever felt. Rolled on the floor for a few hours before I was convinced I was dying and had to get taken to ER. From that day forward I've only drank water......cold turkey stopped every other beverage. The pain is real lol. Get better friend, that's a massive one. Change up some things to avoid those in the future. 1 Quote

I, for one, understood that you were injecting humor. I feel for you @GreenPig. Managed to go 61 of my 63 years without a kidney stone. Now I've had two and it's not fun. 2 1 Quote

ScottW Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I’ve had 3 so far and understand how bad they hurt. Have your doctors found what’s causing them? Some foods and/or drinks I’ve been told can be the cause. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 26, 2023 Super User Posted February 26, 2023 I’ve had many of them also. Wish we could get together and swap some kidney stone stories. The pain is not funny as you well know. But after they pass or after the operation and think back on the places you got the attack or where you realize where you are with a stuck one can get pretty funny, but not at the time. Hope you feel better. Wish we could get a few good laughs. 1 1 Quote

They've poked, prodded, tested, analyzed, and the conclusion is genetics. At some point the doctors have had me give up eating & drinking everything (cola, well water, dairy, salt, protein, vegetables, processed foods, etc.) If I completely ignore the nutritional needs for the rest on my body I could possibly stop the stone building. I hydrate, eat a balanced diet, and just deal with them as they hit. Actually had one doctor tell me a 6 pack of beer daily might help. 8 hours ago, Jigfishn10 said: Got it I wasn't trying to cause problems. I'll adjust my post. I won't post here again. Super User MN Fisher Posted February 27, 2023 Super User Posted February 27, 2023 Ow-ow-ow Knock on wood - I'm 63 and have yet to suffer a stone...friend of mine had one and while it had a shorter trip, she said that it was worse than giving birth without meds - one of her sons came quickly enough that ambulance didn't even make it to their house before little Jack made an appearance. 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted February 28, 2023 Super User Posted February 28, 2023 I've passed more than I care to say. I feel your pain brother! I have done everything they have told me and yet they still appear. I drink water like there's no tomorrow and do my best with regards to staying away from soft drinks, dairy, and broccoli. I simply know they will eventually happen no matter what I do. I have prescribed pain medication and wait it out. 1 Quote

It really helps open the pipes and get it out. 1 Quote
