I have a lot of tackle and I realize I have a problem - I can never get rid of it. I just keep feeding the monkey(s).

So when I think I have too much tackle I watch this video:

Does anyone know of anyone else that has more tackle than Epic Eric?

I weighed my tackle bag last year and it came in at a gaudy 37lbs......I like to be prepared.

The good news, not a single bait order over the winter.

The bad news? A new boat showed up ?.

I'd guess Tom Monsoon does. I saw a video once where he said he has thousands of swim jigs.

I like to buy tackle and have plenty, but Epic Eric is unreal.  Tom Monsoor does have a lot too. I saw a video of his basement and his vintage lure collection is beautiful.   I keep trying to stop buying, but as I read and learn more, it seems I always need more.   I always find a way to justify more rods, reels, and tackle.  Oh well, I work for a reason.

Watch the Hellabass episode with Epic Eric on it.  They go back and forth talking about tackle and giving tips.  It is a great video/podcast!   Epic Eric doesn’t just buy, he tinkers and knows a ton.

When you don’t how many lures you have it’s time to stop, and take inventory listing every lure.

When selling my stuff a few ago years listing everything was eye opening!? each lure brought back a memory.

My Sea Bee unit used to drill in Lakehurst, and you could see the Hindenburg hangar from the chow hall, just saying...

I don't know Epic Eric, but I do know he is my hero.

Somebody in the state of Maryland that has more tackle than me.

That's not a bait monkey its a bait silverback gorilla at his house.

Scott Martin visited Tom Monsoor last summer and it (his basement) was pretty insane, especially if you're a jig connoisseur.

about every year I go through my stuff and if I havent touched it that season it goes in a box for giving out. This year my nephew turns 5 and has been going out with my BIL often so hes getting one hell of a box this year.

Previously if I struck up conversation with someone who had kids fishing i'd give it to them, or put it for free at work if it went to someones kids who fish.

I have boxes of stuff I never use...for instance I can't tell you the last time I pulled out any of my topwaters besides a yellow magic popper and my swimbaits. Buzzbaits - I have at least 100 but haven't thrown one in 3 years. So much situational stuff I just haven't used because the majority of my fishing is done in tournaments.

Yet, I can't shed any of it.

EE is my hero but as mentioned above look up “Tom Monsoor bass cave”

This was amazing. I love seeing all this old tackle. And he is correct, what's old becomes new again.

Maybe if I'd held onto all the baits I've found for the last couple decades.

At the risk of sounding like a hater....what a mess!  I'm assuming he spread around and hung up a few boxes of cranks/spinnerbaits for effect, but it triggered my OCD.

Yep! I enjoy watching him on SM Crush. A good personality and he is always informative.
