Well I had every intention on coming home last night and working on the boat. I’ve got it tore apart right now because I ran wiring for all the LEDs I am installing in it and for the 5 gang switch panel I sunk into the cockpit area. I also need to install the new Garmin 93sv, mount rod holders, etc . So, I went out to the shop  and climbed up in the boat but couldn’t muster the energy to do anything because I felt so sick. Instead, I came back in the house to a scalding hot shower to get rid of the chills, and went to bed at 8pm which is very unusual for me. I’ve had the absolute worst body aches snd fatigue imaginable along with sweats and chills. Woke up to a bad sore throat and a 101.3 fever this morning. And then, I tested positive for covid this morning. Yay me! No fishing for me this weekend…. So I am laying on this couch all day thinking about fishing and wanting to work on the boat. My brain tells me to get out there and work on it but as soon as I stand up, I quickly realize I can’t barely even stand. Ugh this sucks!!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly.

I hadn't been 'sick' in a few decades but ended up with Covid last May.

Right in the middle of pre-spawn here.  Total bummer.

Either way, I tried to 'fight through it" too.

Big mistake IMO.

It kicked my A$$ ~ for almost a month.

Ended up in the local ER dehydrated & completely toasted.

I say let your body do it's thing and heal.

But sit back, it might be a heck of a ride that lasts a while.

And remember your super contagious so don't hook anyone else up.

Good Luck.

I’m the same way, I never get sick. I knew something was off with this, I have never felt this bad from I can remember. And I know I should take it easy as hard as that is to do. I’m not one to sit still.
My sister is a doctor and she said the most critical thing is to stay hydrated well, and to take lots of vitamin C. So that’s what I’m doing.
and yeah I know I shouldn’t be around people but fortunately for me, I work at the hospital in IT so they’re around it all day anyways.

I went out to the garage a bit ago thinking that I could at least string my new reels. Nope, couldn’t even stand to sit upright. ?‍♂️

thanks guys!

Sorry to hear that

I had it about a year ago

Same symptoms, slept solid for like a day and felt fine afterwards, just a little run down from my body using up energy to fight the virus.

It affects all people differently, lets just hope it a 24 hr thing for you.

Get well

It just has to run its course. Hopefully sooner than later for you, and not a serious outcome.

Hang in there @SuperDuty!  Rest up, keep hydrated.

Covid is weird....

First weekend of deer rifle season of 2020 brother and I made the short trip to "deer camp" (okay, not really deer camp for us, since we don't get to hunt...just hang with some friends, enjoy a few adult beverages, tell stories, watch football...)

Six of us packed in to a small cabin that sits on 500 acres of prime white-tail land adjacent to the Missouri River here in Nebraska. Buddy's son had a bit of a cold, but we thought nothing of it.

Got back home Sunday night kissed the wife, and started preparing as my brother and I were pulling ATV's to western Nebraska to chase Mule deer on Wednesday.

Got the call Monday afternoon from our buddy...his son tested positive for Covid(!). Crap.

My wife's a nurse, and immune-compromised, and she was not happy. After about an hour of her grilling me, she said, "the heck with it...you probably have it...and now I probably have it." Deer preparation continued as we planned to head west Wednesday morning.

Night before we leave (Tuesday), wife gets amorous : ) Wednesday morning 6 AM she leaves for work, gives me a big kiss, and says I better get tested.  I've been feeling no symptoms. 8 AM that same morning I get a quick test...negative.  I call the wife, and she says, "get the long test." So I do.  Results due back on Saturday. Brother and I finish packing, hitch up the ATV trailer, and head west.

By 7 PM Wednesday evening we have made the 8 hour drive, all unpacked in the hotel, and are excited to chase deer. I wake up around midnight FREEZING cold, can't get warm. Feel like crap.  Crank the heat in the room as high as it will go. Thankfully we decided to get adjoining rooms, just in case one of us gets sick. @ 3 AM I wake up sweating like a hog. UGH.

Brother walks in @ 4 AM, I tell him it's not good...just go...hunt hard and get your first buck ever.  By noon I'm starting to feel better...and get this picture via text. Brother's first buck ever!

That night we raise a toast to his good luck and straight shooting, and I'm feeling much better.

Friday morning I wake up and ready to hunt...knock on brother's door, and he's sick as a dog. Pretty much same symptoms as me.  So he's out for the day. I load up on Tylenol-cold and head out. Actually felt pretty good. Tagged this buck Saturday afternoon...shortly after I got word the covid long test came back positive. Imagine that.

Quarantined in the basement away from the wife most of the next week.

Strange thing is...she NEVER tested positive for covid, never showed any symptoms at all...even after kissing me at 6AM that morning, and me testing positive 8 hours later.

She's never gotten covid to date. I tease her, she's too mean to get covid...keeps scaring it off. HA!

Drink some bleach, stick a flashlight in your butt and get out there, those fish aren't going to catch themselves!...

Not sure some Clorox and an anal moon beam is the answer

but it get's my vote for response of the day.

Great story and nice bucks! Looks like beautiful country out there. I am grateful this is happening now and not opening weekend of deer season. I would be extremely disappointed. I probably would be hunting anyways …

Dang. I’m masking up for San Diego.  Probably futile, but any measure of anything resembling protection is fine by me.

‘’if I get sick, I’m staying home. No way I drag it anywhere..

i elk hunted with the flu two seasons ago.  It was physically the toughest thing I ever tried to do. My bow felt like it was made of lead.  But drawing a NM non-res tag is like getting hit by lightning.  I had to go.

Perhaps on the night your wife got "amorous" you gave her an injection that prevented her from getting

covid !!  LOL....

Well, I’m finally heading into work today for the first time this week. This time getting Covid was the worst thing my body has ever experienced. I’m still at only about 40-50% but I need to get in and get stuff done. The GF has covid now, too, but she didn’t have it bad like me, thankfully.
I did get to put in a little work on the boat last night which was nice. I hope to hit the banks and do a little fishing on the way home from work this afternoon if I’m not too exhausted. We’ll just have to see how I feel.
I appreciate all the kind words, fellers.

at what point is this non-transmissable.  negative test results?

there was a dude in my class in San Diego, i wanted to slip a covid test.  he was clearly not feeling well.  he will wipe out CA supervisors if we all catch it.  whatever.  if i get it, i passed it to a fully jammed airplane flight already.  the plane left for phoenix.  haha..

Depends who you ask. I’m not really sure if anyone really knows. My sister is a doctor and was leading the treatment for her hospital and she told me I wanted to wait 48hrs after my last fever before I returned to work. Google says you can pass it up to two weeks. ?‍♂️
