PourMyOwn Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Now that I make them I'm a little biased. I prefer a slim tube that is really soft. If I were to buy them, the Snack Daddy Elites would be the ones. 1 Quote

Otter17 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Thankyou greatly for all of your suggestions guys. Well I’m buying a mixed bag of tubes, since I will always be in need of them. Im getting in the 2.5” size: 1. Net Baits Tube 2. Berkeley Power Tube In the 3.5” size: 1. Strike King Coffee Tube 2. Berkeley Power Tube 3. BPS Tender Tube Ive always had confidence in anything Berkeley Powerbait offers, and that’s why I chose those here. Then I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Coffee Tube and the Netbaits so I’ll give them a whirl. The more and more I see how things work out, I’m sure I’ll be trying out some of these other offerings you guys shared. Some of these other companies I was previously unaware of but will look to in the future like that Provider Tube you suggested Ajay. Quote

If you can't find a color you like, forget about it. The Brown Orange Craw and the Lime Smoke with Purple Tail (I think that's the name) are great. Along with the staple colors. 2 Quote

Oh geez, I’m going to get overwhelmed by all these diff choices of tubes.lol 1 Quote
softwateronly Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I still have a few partial bags of poor boys from 8+ years ago, watermelon gold, smoke purple and gp/purple flake. Heard they're not the same since changing ownership, I'll probably find out for myself sometime this summer. Trying some 2.5" netbait this year as well. scott 1 Quote

FrnkNsteen Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I use a bit of a variety to try to "match the hatch" but when fishing smallies up in northern Minnesota or Ontario, I tend to default to Mizmo Green Pumpkin Fizz or Blue Craw if trying to mimic small Northern fry or bluegill. Other options are smoke w/black fleck or Powerbait green pumpkin. 1 Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Only tube I use is the strike king coffee tube pro model. Absolutely love them! 1 Quote
PaulVE64 Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 2 5" to 4" long Whichever one best matches the bottom of my river Sunny days I'm using the Goby in Heat by Set the Hook and if its cloudy I'm throwing green pumpkin w/ black flake. 1 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 4 inch green pumpkin Zoom tube or Berkley maxx scent. I forget how long the maxx scent tube is. it’s either 3.5 or 4 inches I Get more mileage out of the zoom tube but, I caught a lot of 4 lbers on the maxx scent tube last year either on a tube jig or Carolina rigged. I did use a blue and black strike king kvd tube with a little success last year on the titabawassee and Saginaw river. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 26, 2023 Super User Posted February 26, 2023 Gitzits and Venom. I figure they see enough coffee tubes from Strike King that something slightly different may make a difference but the coffee tubes aren't bad either. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted February 26, 2023 Super User Posted February 26, 2023 I dont have a favorite but have been using Gizits because I have a lot . I do have a favorite color . Dont know the official name but its root beer colored and I'll run a chartreuse marker down the back creating a two tone brown and green . 1 Quote
Tackleholic Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Prefer 3.5", still have a good stock of Strike King Bleeding Tubes I use in springtime. Green Pumpkin or Watermelon, both with some red flakes. Popular color around here, usually sold in bulk bags is a mustard with flakes; locals call it Baby Poop. 1 Quote
