I have one

I have two.  Doubled you up.  Can't remember the last time I used it.  Really should just remove them.

I haven't counted mine.  I don't have 70  I don't have 70 of anything.  No grass where I fish.  The State (both NC and SC) kill it as soon as there's a single blade.  I use them for skipping docks.  They skip really good, and no one else does around here that I know of does this.  I've caught bass right behind other people fishing docks with other methods.

Regarding too many.  No number is too many as long as your bills are paid.

The story of Bill Lewis inventing the rattle trap is interesting.  I don't have an article to link or anything, but I remember reading that he traveled around promoting it, and would tell anglers at the boat ramp that it would outfish any crank in their tackle box.

Kind of the story of MegaBass in America.....

"THE BIRTH OF MEGABASS IN THE U.S. IS THE STUFF OF LEGEND, INVOLVING A CROSS-COUNTRY TREK IN THE EARLY 90’S IN WHICH MEGABASS FOUNDER YUKI ITO CHALLENGED PRO STAFF OF LOCAL STORES AND AREA PROS TO FISHING DUELS. THE RULES WERE SIMPLE: IF YUKI WON, THE STORE HAD TO BUY HIS LURES; IF THE U.S. ANGLER WON, THEN YUKI HAD TO BUY LOCAL TACKLE FROM THE STORE. THIS “PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS” APPROACH, COMBINED WITH THE QUALITY AND UNDENIABLE FISH-CATCHING PERFORMANCE OF YUKI’S HANDCRAFTED EQUIPMENT, CONVINCED STORES TO TAKE ON THIS PREMIUM JAPANESE TACKLE."

That's well over 200 in my storage. I have 2 Rubbermaid tubs filled with original Rattle Vibes, Daiwa Game Vibes, LV's, TN's  and IMA Flits, 9- 3700 thin boxes filled with various Lipless and small boxes for bank patrolling. I catch fish on them from ice out till ice in. Brian.

The pic reminds me of the "Marsh ID" challenge at the back of Ducks Unlimited Magazines.  Those iSV70s (flits are the JBs) have almost completely replaced the sinking JB for me, especially in dirty water.  I know fire tiger is a discontinued older color, but never seen the blue black back, is it a JDM rocket vibe or a color that got discontinued before I started using them?

I counted 119 lipless cranks yesterday when I got home.  And those are just the ones hanging in my garage that are NOT in my tackle boxes.   Is that enough...NOPE! Do I have a problem...NOPE!

That Blue/Black back I recently received with a lot of other JDM Lipless baits, so not sure about its history. But I've never seen that color ever offered in stateside sites. Brian.

Does anyone have a review of the IMA suspending lipless?

i think how fast an LV500 drops into the grass can be odd looking to a bass.  a slow sink might be a good option/changeup.  i will find myself 5 kayaks deep in a group casting into grass all the time.  everyone has the LV500.  a way to standout.

Yes, the iSVs are total sleepers.  With stock hooks and 12lb FC the Ghost AYU sinks about 1' in 2.5-3 seconds, the baits with more paint on them sink slightly faster.  You can alter the sink rate by adding lead or changing the hooks.  You can burn and stop like a crank, fish it with a JB cadence or fish it on the bottom/rip it out of grass like a trap.  Most days youre going to find a retreive that works if you stick with it.

Its doesnt cast quite as well as a 1/2oz trap, but it casts far enough to make it a really effective bait for covering water.  I can get it about 30 yards out with a 7' M F in less then ideal conditions.

6th sense makes a slow sink quake, but Im not crazy about it.  With the stock hooks it sinks slightly faster then the Ima, but the stock hooks are waay too big.  If you want a trap that falls faster then the SS quake and iSV, but still has slower fall rate then a RES then IMO the Riot Raptor is the 1 you should invest in.

I have boxes of them.  There was a time when if you weren't fishing a Rattle Trap you weren't bass fishing.  When I was younger, I could throw one all day.  In those days, I was a lipless cranking machine.  I won a bunch of tournaments throwing those baits.  I was also lucky enough to partner with one of the best Rattle Trap fisherman I have ever known.  Throwing a lipless crankbait all day is a young man's thing.  When your bones and muscles age, it gets tough.  Today, I much prefer flipping.  My bass are bigger and I can fish without pain.   One thing I have noticed.  There is a difference in these baits.  Out of a dozen baits, a few will work better.  You will have to ask the bass to know why.  If you find one that works, keep it.  When I was tournament fishing I had a special stash of Traps like that.  I kept them even when the paint was worn off.

I have had a few where the paint is completely worn away showing only white plastic.  Still catches fish better than some new out of the box.  It's a mystery. ?

Great... Now I just bought another because I'm worried that my problem all along was none of the seven I owned were good ones.  Lucky no. 8?

I have a friend who is a guide in Quebec. He fishes with just two lures, a white spinner bait, and a Booyah One Knocker in Toledo Gold. I fish with him occasionally; that is all he brings and uses and he catches fish.

He has another friend from Texas who drives up and fishes with him for a few weeks each summer.  A few years ago the friend had just put his boat in and I went over to BS. I looked at his console and he had a mess of white spinner baits and the same Booyah One Knockers hanging from his windshield. I made a comment about his extensive variety of lures and he insisted those two were all you needed.

I don't have nearly as many lipless cranks as most of you, but I do have a few and the Booyah One Knocker in Toledo Gold works!!

I have about 30. Quite proud of myself that I only bought two new ones for this year. Keep the bait  monkey away. I’ve finally convinced myself it’s the Indian not the arrow. I’ll let you know how well I make out with that notion, he he he.

Those baits don't make the monkey very hsppy...shows I don't need all those fancy colors I hoard ?
