Just ordered a Garnin

Well today was the first time out on my “new to me” boat. I got a ticket from DNR because I completely spaced getting my launch permit. Lol
anyways, The older Humminbird 788 ci HD DI left a lot to be desired. So, I just took advantage of the BP shops sale and ordered the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv. Hopefully I won’t regret buying it.

What's a 'launch permit'? You gotta pay to just use the ramps or something?

 

Only thing I have to get from the DNR here for my boat is the registration - $36 for 3 years and I'm good to go anywhere in the state.

Yeah it’s a $20 sticker that allows you to launch on DNR managed properties.

Yuck - all public launches here are managed by the DNR - that's what part of the registration fee here is for...maintenance and patrolling the launch ramps. If you got an up-to-date sticker on your boat, you're good to go.

Yup it’s ridiculous. It should be part of your registration fees here, too. And to think I even paid a lot extra to have wildlife plates on my Jeep that goes to help fund the DNR equipment they used to ticket me. ?‍♂️ But, it is only my fault. They were doing their job and were nice guys….

A lot of people that just received a citation would not openly admit something like this. They’d pi** and moan and complain. Props to you for recognizing this and admitting it.

Michigan used to be this way too, but a few years ago required us to get a park pass with our vehicle registrations in order to use the boat ramps. With the park pass though you get into State Parks as well. It’s $10 a year so it’s not the end of the world.

 

@SuperDuty you won’t be disappointed with your Echomap. I have two and love them!

That would be a much more fair way to handle the launch stickers! 
 

I’m pretty upset about the FF right now. It didn’t get delivered yesterday because BP sent it signature delivery which I do understand. No biggie, so I logged into Fedex and paid money for 5-8pm delivery tonight and left work a bit early. At 4:30 this evening I get a text msg from Fedex saying my package was delayed and would arrive tomorrow during normal hours. No refund for what I paid for choosing 5-8pm delivery tonight and no free delivery for tomorrow 5-8. That’s not right at all. Now the girlfriend has to work from home tomorrow so itll get delivered. Not very happy!

Yeah, I’d be upset too.

 

Mine required a signature too. My 10 year old was home, called me when the FedEx guy showed up, I texted my neighbor he poked his head out the door, I talked to the FedEx guy on my son’s phone, my son signed for it, and I got my 93SV UHD. ?

That worked out for you pretty well. I wish I coulda been so lucky!

The thing that upsets me the most is, you know it was just a delivery guy who didn’t wanna work late to deliver my package so he just checked some “delay box”, cancelling the delivery I paid for, so he could go home on time….
