This is unbelievably. In June of 2022 I placed a order with them. When I reviewed the order I saw one of the frogs was back ordered. I told him to cancel that one but notify me when you get them & if I have not found it elsewhere I'll re order it. A few days ago I get a e-mail saying I have a package on the way. I call & get a person In Ga. & he checks it out & tells me I have no orders pending so nothing should be coming.. The next I get another e-mail telling it's a back order & gives me the order #. I call again & get someone in Ca. & talk with that person the order #. That is when I found out it's the Frogs from June of 2022. & it was being sent by mail from & I would have it 7 to 14 days. At that point the conservation went south in a hurry. I will be calling Monday to tell a supervisor what is going to happen.?

Honestly, this doesn’t sound like that big of an issue. What did It cost you? $15 or so and you get a lure that’s been on back order out of the deal.

Mistakes happen, human error, computer error, etc. like the previous comment stated, it’s maybe a $15 inconvenience at most I’d assume? In my eyes it’s really not worth the frustration on your end or calling and venting your frustrations with a supervisor. At most I’d shoot an email stating what happened, the correspondence you’ve had about said frog, making them aware of the end result so they can look into to try and figure out what happened to try and prevent future issues in the future.

Just my opinion.

Congrats on the new frog! ?

Their shipping is a known issue …. Last time mine took over a week to even ship and I contacted them, I was told since I used the free shipping that is why and if I would have used the upgraded shipping methods I would have had mine shipped out sooner ! Lost me at that point and the constant issues they have had with many others

I'm amazed at all of these stories of shipping issues from TW. I've ordered from them a ton over the years and I've never experienced any of these issues. That said I can understand why your annoyed, but like stated above I think calling a supervisor and whining them out may be a little much. I to would go the Email route, you can keep it short and concise that way, get your point across and it will be better received which means they may actually address the issue so it doesn't happen in the future. Who knows maybe they will even send you a free gift or a coupon code for the inconvenience. Guaranteed if you call and unleash on them the only thing that will happen is the guy hangs up, says well that dude was a stupid a#$&%$# and go about his day.

100% because this is exactly what I would do lmao!

I’ve never had 1 issue with TW. Great people when you call, good selection almost always. Pretty good prices with my veteran discount. Fast enough shipping for me.
If I need something faster I go get It in person.

I understand everybody has had different experiences and I'm not discounting those, but I've always had great experiences with them so they continue to get my business until they ruin that.

they hit your credit card without asking?  or you paid for it the first time and it was simply backordered and will come to you without asking?  or did you get the frog for free?

the biggest question...which frog?  :D

on the grand scheme of online shopping, this is pretty much small potatoes to me.  annoying, yea.  but my triggers are poor communication and lost packages.

TW's shipping is the main reason why I no longer do business with them.

In this day and age of technology S^&*&T happens. I have been lucky and never have had a issue with TW. Also very hard to talk with a live person nowadays.

This post doesn't really make much sense but calling and telling a manager "what they're going to do for you" over a computer error is a bad look. Don't be a jerk to customer service people if they haven't actually done anything wrong

I'm with this guy..the CS person is just the person lucky enough to field the call.  no need putting them on blast.

fishing after all is suppose to be all about fun.  all of it.

It was my favorite also they carry everything I use & never had much of a problem. My problem is it has been 9 months since that order! When I review the order I told the person not to back order the frogs & just let me know when they are in in case I did not find them else where. I was in a major tackle shop in Myrtle Beach & they had them. So I have had them since the end of 6/22. I have never heard from them about this until the email I received this past week. When I spoke with the 2nd person who was in Ca. told me that They are suppose to contact the person after 6 months to see if it is still wanted. My card is on file so it was charged without permission & sent.  I have already talk with my bank about the charge & they have taken the steps necessary to fix it. I am going fishing for a couple of weeks. The girls at the front desk at my office know not accept the package & to write returned to sender on it.  I feel sure most of you would have the same thoughts that I have after being surprised after 9 Months. I appreciate all of your feed back. What would you do if it were you after 9 months. I have been a customer for a very long time & never had them charge my card without my permission.

Been buying from TW for years, never had an issue. Sometimes stuff takes a while to ship, and I am patient when that happens. If something got messed up like what you're describing I'd deal with it, not have a meltdown about it. I've had things like jigs missing a hook, different colors sent, but TW fixed all issues immediately.

There’s a good chance the people we talk to at customer support work in some other country and are customer service reps many companies.

I feel confident 99% of members here would have been fine keeping another frog in their tackle box.

I get you’re point. But in the grand scheme of things this situation is mildly annoying at best.
if it were me. Even though they charged my card. I’d feel like I was getting a present I didn’t know about.

I would have personally just taken the frogs that I already liked and used and considered it a win. If I didn't want them I would have received them and then sent them back for a refund. Things happen and everything doesn't always work out the way you want them to, through no fault of anyone. It isn't the end of the world.

What I wouldn't have done is call and be confrontational and angry with the CS person at TW and complain to a manager. I wouldn't have called my bank and stopped payment over a $20 order and I definitely wouldn't have put them on blast on a public forum.

It just isn't a big deal and life is too short to get bent out of shape over easily fixable, cheap mistakes like this. Nobody is trying to steal from you.

In his defense, he has has probably spent a lot of time pressurized underwater and not seeing the sun for days at a time, easy to judge from the surface... :)  Check out how much room there is to troll on the fantail...

I usually place 4-5 orders a year with Tackle Warehouse (among others) and I've never had a problem with them. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've ordered more than a few rods from them and never had a problem with that either.

I've never ordered much from them.  Its pretty obvious that their selection is probably better than most places, but every time I place an order, it takes about a week for them to even ship it.  I have always ordered items in stock.  This was pre pandemic, during pandemic, and post pandemic.  It's always the same.  I don't understand why they can't ship it sooner if all the items are in stock.  Whenever I order something from another online retailer, its shipped with 24 hours of placing the order.  TW is consistent at least...consistently late.

I rarely order items online anyways.  I am an in person shopper.  I wouldn't even consider buying something like a rod online without picking it up, holding it, and visually inspecting it.

Usually if I need something during the fishing season, there's no chance I would consider ordering it from them.  I'll be going fishing much sooner than it would take to get here.  In the winter, it's not a big deal because I won't be going fishing until May.

That being said, this particular problem with one frog is really not a big deal.

Thats not how it works

Thats the only way they would be able to bill 8 months after the fact. Im fairly certain per PCI compliance or whatnot they can't keep your payment information post-purchase unless you allow them to.
