lunkerboss923 Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I have been looking for a Steez A and evidently the demand for them is through the roof, you can't find them anywhere. In fact, the entire line of Daiwa is going up in price. As if Daiwa is more expensive than Shimano. I hate the fact that as soon as I get interested in Daiwa they are getting up their in price. Heck, the Fuego is $119. I hate you Covid Anyway that's my rant for the day. Quote
Tatulatard Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Buy from Japan. Buying full retail from tackle warehouse is like that episode of king of the hill where Hank pays full retail for a car for Peggy. 2 1 Quote
Cbump Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Steez A II $392 https://www.digitaka.com/items/4/4/2/STEEZ+A+II 2 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 I don't have a Steez A but the A2 is awesome. The Zillion SV, HD and Alphas are awesome reels too, I have multiples of each and the price is right when buying JDM. Quote

Fishing is still the least expensive hobby I've ever had by a long shot. 7 Quote
Cbump Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Not me lol. First boat was 30k, 45k boat now, 10k in rod/reels, probably 12k in Hobie kayaks over the years. If I wasn’t a fisherman I could own land! Lol 2 Quote
FrnkNsteen Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 For the record,... Shimano reels have been starting to climb in price too recently. Quote

Super User dodgeguy Posted February 19, 2023 Super User Posted February 19, 2023 I'd never buy overseas. I'd rather pay more and support or business over here. Quote

I've had cars I've sunken thousands into just to take them to the track, break something, and repeat. Over the 20-ish years I was into that kinda thing, I could've bought a nice vacation home in northern Michigan on a lake with some acreage and maybe a small boat to go along with it. I had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends, but man was that the epitome of an expensive hobby. I gave that up the first time my wife told me she was pregnant. Quote

Shaving off 10ths of a second is expensive, and worth every penny. I've said it here before that bass fishing is the only thing I've found that gives me the same rush. 2 Quote
Cbump Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Opportunity cost is worth It for this awesome hobby. I could have saved all this money the last 15 years but then what would I have done? Wasted my life sitting at home. 3 Quote

Ya, if you don't want your money going overseas - Accurate, IRT, and Penn for spinning; Avet and Seigler for casting - but all rounds, no low-profile. Of those, only Seigler uses all USA made components, the others get some components from overseas. Those are the only US made spinning/casting reels out there...everything else is made overseas. https://usamadeproducts.biz/outdoor-recreation-fishing-gear-fishing-reels.html Quote

Wound up leaving with the last 6.3 and 7.3 and two 8.1’s ??♂️ Quote
