Picked up a boat last weekend to fish the lake and rivers. The old man who owned it barely ever used it and he kept every receipt since it was new.
so far, I’ve changed engine and drive oils, new plugs, installed side guide bunks on the trailer, put a hydro foil on the 30 HP Honda.
the Humminbird 788ci HD Di is pretty ancient snd probably won’t produce good results so I’m considering the Garmin Echomap 93sv. I also need to install some lights inside and probably pick up to new marine batteries.
heading to the Indianapolis Boat Sport & Travel show today where I may pick up some goodies. Can’t wait to get this thing out on the water tomorrow.

That is a nice clean boat and motor and definitely doesn't appear to have been used a lot.  Congratulations!

Thanks guys! I’m pretty excited about it and can’t wait to get to fishing. Plan to chase the wipers and LM a lot this year.

Really nice looking boat!!!  Just curuous as to why you put the hydro fin on before trying it out?  Don"t forget the trailer maintenence, wheel bearings, winch strap, etc. Hopefully you flushed, cleaned out any old fuel left in the tank. So pics of her in the water would be nice for us who are still in winter mode, looking out the window and wishing boating season was here !!

Definitely someone’s pride and joy, lots of TLC!

The Honda doesn’t appears not  to have hydrologic trim judging from the tilt pin holes? Apparently you do have electric start and some control switch’s mount next to the back seat.

Enjoy?

Closer look at your pics makes me think you have the sister ship to mine.  I have a Sylvan 16' side console, looks very similiar to yours!!!  I love mine, handles a two foot chop very well, looking forward to more pics.

Thanks! I’ve put one on every boat I’ve ever owned and it always made them plane and handle better. I could only imagine it would this one, too. Good point on trailer maintenance. I won’t be traveling far but it definitely deserves my attention none the less. I’ll snap some pics as soon as I get it in there.

To,

Thank you, definitely been well taken care of and very low hours use. Yes, electric start, electric tilt/trim on the jack plate with the switches next to the back chair for the tilt/trim, as well as live well and bilge switches.

It seems to be a well made boat. I certainly hope to enjoy many years of use from it.

To,

Hard to tell from the pics, my Merc has the pin holes for tilt but also has the power trim unit. Do I see a trim cylinder in that pic ???

It has an electric tilt/trim jack plate with controls by the back seat.
