Seaworthy81 Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I can’t find 4/0 weighted beast hooks anywhere and I go through them too fast fishing the way I do. Does anyone know if the trokar magnum 3/0 is a similar size? How is the strength of the hook shaft of the trokar compared to the beast? I’m typically catching a mix of bass, peacock bass and snakeheads; and the snakeheads just tear these hooks up, twisting most hooks into a pretzel. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 Ever think of going to their website? 1 Quote
Seaworthy81 Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 Whose website? The weighted beasts in 4/0 have been out of stock at my local shops, TW and the owner site for weeks now. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 They have a few. https://www.omniafishing.com/p/owner-weighted-beast-soft-bait-hook?fishing_reports_sort=true&fishing_reports_waterbody Another to look is the Ryugi Pierce. I have tried the unweighted version and I have no issues with it. I can't say it's better or worse than the Beast Hook but I haven't lost any fish and it sticks them pretty easy. 1 Quote

Thank you, how does the sizing on them work? Is a 4/0 the same general size and a 4/0 owner? Is the wire similar strength as a beast? You can see what a large particularly aggressive snakehead did to this 4/0 beast hook when I was trying to unhook him. They spin like a crocodile, and if you are pulling on the hook and they spin, it’s toast. Lighter wire hooks get completely pretzeled by even small ones. Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 Try these. The 3/0 is close. Get the 5/0 if you're worried about the gap. Magnum Weighted Swimbait Hook with Spring Baith Keeper (eagleclaw.com) Eagle Claw TroKar Magnum Swimbait Weighted Hooks | Bass Pro Shops 1 Quote
Seaworthy81 Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 Thank you, I bit the bullet and picked up some of the trokar 3/0s and some centerpins and will see for myself when they get here. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I've got 1 pack of 4/0 beasts left. https://siebertoutdoors.com/products/ols/products/xn-owner-beast-weighted-hook-2f2p/v/5130W-24 1 Quote

Beast hooks are usually the toughest of the bunch. The Ryugi is thinner. I don't think it would be any better than the Owner when it comes to fish like that. 1 Quote
