Super User ChrisD46 Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 I mainly know a Zoom Baby Brush Hog as a favorite for a Carolina Rig soft plastic - what are your favorite ways to rig a Baby Brush Hog ? 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 Shakey head and Texas are the only 2 ways I rig them. 3 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 Texas rig for me also. 2 Quote
Ski Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Texas For Punching through the thick stuff. 2 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 Jig trailer sometimes but mostly Texas 1 Quote
Cbump Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 T-rig, c-rig. That’s It for me. I cut a super hog and use It as a jig trailer though. 2 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 They’re my #1 C-rig bait. Good for T-rigging as well. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted February 18, 2023 Global Moderator Posted February 18, 2023 Same as everyone else! Mike 2 Quote
BC VC basser Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I have had good luck using it on a drop shot for sight fishing bed fish Had the hook 6" to 8" above the weight and t-rig style hook so it was weedless Quote
Junk Fisherman Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 They've been my #1 finesse pitching plastic for years. I pretty much always have a Baby Brush Hog or a Super Hog tied on when I am largemouth fishing. A blue fleck Baby Brush Hog with a T-rigged 2/0 EWG hook with a 3/16th oz sinker has put a lot of fish in the boat for me over the years. 1 Quote
TriStateBassin106 Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Texas rigged with a 3/16oz tungsten weight, absolute summertime killer up here. I will switch up the weight size occasionally between 1/4oz and 3/16oz. 12lb Flourocarbon. 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 I Ned rig tiny brush hogs in spring…Pretty much just C-rig the baby’s Quote
Aaron_H Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I'm a big fan of weightless Texas-rigging them. Holds a special place since it's what got "the one that started it all" for me. 4 1 Quote
flatcreek Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Carolina rig mostly and Texas rig with1/4 oz weight Quote
Drawdown Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Guess those appendages don’t need much weight to get going, like the Berkley Pit Boss does (one of my favorite jig trailers for a fast reaction bite, but I tend to throw a 5/8oz jig to get full effect). Nice to know you can scale the Brush hog back to 3/16 or 1/4oz of weight for a smoother presentation. Quote
Mbirdsley Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 T-rig with 3/16 or 1/4 oz. I havnt thrown them much. I threw the christy critter more 4-5 yrs ago. Cristy critter wasn’t as durable though Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Ive done really well neko rigging the baby hogs and using the tiny brushhog on micro jigs and jig heads. Like everyone else I t rig them too, but Ive actually been throwing the super hog more the past few years. 2 Quote

river-rat Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Texas Rig is the only way I have used them. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 18, 2023 Super User Posted February 18, 2023 I fish them on a Texas rig and split shot rig. 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted February 19, 2023 Super User Posted February 19, 2023 I don't fish them much anymore, but t-rigged or as a jig trailer with a few snips of the scissors works well. Quote
GRiver Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I fish them Texas rigged with varies weights, sometimes fixed ,sometimes not. I’ve all so used a wobble head jig. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted February 19, 2023 Super User Posted February 19, 2023 I always Texas rig mine On a Gamakatsu 2/0 offset round bend hook with an 1/8 ounce sinker. I very rarely use anything heavier than an 1/8 ounce. Quote
