Not the biggest SM but catching anything around here in February besides hypothermia is a feat. Didn't know they stocked this spot with trout today so people were everywhere. One guy did catch a 6lb golden trout by me on a spinner which was impressive.  Also lost a LM right at the bank on a finesse jig. This would have been the first LM I have caught ever in this section of the creek.

Nice catch.  My biggest smallmouth this year was caught from the bank.

Weird mild winter here in SW MI too.  I've now started something on my water that I never thought was possible, the ice came off in early January for a week or so and then came off again Saturday, and now Ive caught a bass in each month.  When I get a March bass, it'll be the first time ever I ran every month on  a license.
