Super User slonezp Posted February 14, 2023 Super User Posted February 14, 2023 Give this guy a call. He might be able to fabricate something for you https://www.fishonfabrications.com/custom-fabrication.html 2 Quote
airshot Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Consider a self deploy and retrieve trolling motor, then you can remain seated where you are safe. 2 Quote

Vilas15 Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 I'll 3rd the recommendation for an Ulterra if you've got the cash and don't fish in freezing conditions. The stow/deploy can get jammed up if its wet and below freezing. Quote
Super User Solution WIGuide Posted February 14, 2023 Super User Solution Posted February 14, 2023 Not sure what kind of boat you have to know if this would be a cheaper alternative, but Ashmore Marine Products has a "helping hand" device that tightens down with your locator gimble and can hold your rope up higher. It doesn't provide a post for you, but would keep it higher so you wouldn't have to bend down as far and doesn't take away from your deck space. https://ashmoremarine.com/shop/ols/products/xn-helpin-hand-ti3f 1 Quote
Super User GaryH Posted February 14, 2023 Super User Posted February 14, 2023 My first suggestion would be to purchase a Minn Kota Ulterra. Can’t put a cost on safety. my next suggestion would be if it’s a bass boat and your using the front seat you can rig a safety line that will connect to the pole and attach the other end to you when your going retrieve your trolling motor to the stored position. Good luck and keep safe. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 14, 2023 Super User Posted February 14, 2023 I’d make two recommendations. The Ulterra and Millennium seats. I had to go to the Ulterra because of broken ribs that didn’t heal properly. I just added the seat for comfort and safety. 1 1 Quote

Hang onto your pedestal seat when pulling up the TM. Tom Quote
