I just got into wacky rigging little more and I bought a wacky rig hook lot recently from tackle warehouse, But I saw almost everyone on YouTube using Neko rig hooks, So tell me honestly what you using for wacky rig and why?

Also I want to know if real wacky rig hooks are so bad, Why they still in production, Since no one using them because of hooking ratio.

I use a #1 or 1/0 Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap hooks for wacky rigging. It’s the perfect wacky hook in my opinion. The wide gap and how the point is not lined up with the shaft or eye really gives a good hook up percentage.

Gamakatsu 1/0 circle octopus hook is what I use. Lift rod tip up, reel in and hook sets itself.

I just bought some 2/0 to try out.

I really like the Trokar Weedless Wacky hook generally in 2/0. The weed guard is stiff enough to do an adequate job of keeping it wheedles, but are soft enough they don't interfere with hookups. It's worked really well for me so I don't have a reason to switch currently. If I threw a Neko rig more, maybe then I would as I could buy one hook to cover both applications instead of having to buy two separate hooks.

This is the hook I use, but in 2/0. Fantastic hookup percentage, zero complaints.

I used to use the Gami wacky hooks and they work.  I found the longer shank neko style hooks to have a slightly better hookup ratio, but the biggest reason I went to the neko is because of where it hooks the fish.  Both the VMC and Owner neko stick em in the roof of the mouth 9 of 10 times.  I dont get that kind of placement with the Gami wacky.

I use a weedless Neko hook made by Eagle Claw, but as far as I know it can only be bought in store at Wal-Mart. It's exactly like this Trokar, but without the awful cutting point.

Second the VMC Neko

X3 on the VMC Neko hook.  I prefer the size 2 however.  Not to be confused with the 2/0.

The longer shaft results in a higher percentage of fish hooked in the roof of the mouth.

I prefer the Owner Sniper Finesse Neko hook in a 1 or 1/0 but have some 2's as well

I have tried a number of different hooks as I fish the wacky rig a fair amount. The best I have found is the Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse Hook. For a 5 inch senko type bait I use  the 2/0. Never had a problem hooking the bass and never lost one once hooked. If I get bit, I land it. Highly recommend.

Got a great deal on VMC Nekos on MidwayUSA last year. They worked great.

But since I was running low, I just picked up a pack of the Eagle Claw Nekos with Chris Zaldain’s likeness on them. The price is good, if nothing else—hope they’re as good as the Eagle Claw EWG’s they throw Jason Christie’s mug on.

I use these same Eagle Claws Neko hooks @Bluebasser86 mentioned for weightless wacky rigs. I use the Berkley Fusion 19 weighted wacky hooks if I need to add weight. Both work well for me.

Berkley Fusion 19 Octopus or VMC Ike Approved Wacky in #1 or #2

I tried the Neko hooks but kept tongue hooking fish and having them bleed out....Lost one in a tourny. Most of the time the wacky hooks stick them right in the top of the mouth..

Those (and all) Trokar hooks destroy fish. The cutting point embeds way to deep into the bone bits and cuts huge holes in the lips if they’re skin hooked.

that being said, gamakatsu weedless finesse wide gap 1/0.
