Ok so Ive saw a few lawn mower engines converted to outboards on youtube. Seemed pretty cool, this would more or less be a project. Anybody ever done this? Or know where I can find info on it? Im kinda confused as to how the bottom end works?

Looks like just some tinkering with scrap parts. One thing, no neutral or reverse.  Just a little noisy too, LOL.

I dunno never said it would be better, this is more or less a project something to tinker with.

I'd tinker with a transom mount trolling motor and battery.  Would take me all of 5 minutes to tinker.

The rest of the time, I'd be fishing ;)

I've not seen the lawn mower conversion but I did see a jon with an IO made from a jet ski motor.

A mud buddy would be cool.  There's a guy that hits one of my creeks with one.  Loud as hell, but he gets his jon in places that only kayaks can go.

That might be something worth tinkering with, especially if you can quiet it down.

I saw one of those on a boat at Santee-Cooper(in the river). The owner said he could run in 3 inches of water. I believe he called his a "go-devil". He used it to run the old rice fields that are just off the Cooper River. I didn't hear it running, it was on a trailer in his yard................Al
