What is the better map forGPS Nav.hotmaps or LEI hot spots? Which shows lakes structure better.

There must be reviews online which compare the two.  If it's like all the other ask the members questions, some will say one. Some will say the other.  It all boils down to which you prefer.

I have the Navionics Hot Maps Premium chips for the east and south, and have no complaints about them.  So far, the HD maps are right on when it comes to boat position.

The others can be way off.  I've been a hundred feet from the shore and the display shows the boat on a roadway adjacent to the pond, an error of over a hundred yards.

It's no big deal as long as you don't try to navigate by the display.

When you mark a spot on the gps, it will bring you back to that precise spot repeatedly.  I suspect that is common in either program/chip.

I have both.  My Nav shows contours better but my LEI is way superior up creeks because it show channels a long ways after the nav cuts off.

Check the settings on your Plotter. My hummindbird has an adjustment to compensate for this type of thing. Maybe yours is on and it should be off. Or the offset amount may be off.

This is more of a function of the GPS unit and not the map software. The unit will do this without a map chip.
