I fish about 300 days a year since being retired for the last 7 years.  of those days about 15 days were from the boat.  My house is surrounded by 12 lakes within a 10 minute drive.  All are man made lakes, all connected to the everglades water management system, all are loaded with Peacock Bass, Black Bass, Snakeheads, Oscars, Myians, and all have easy bank fishing available access.  Great place to live if you love to fish.  I fish an hour or two everyday from the bank, and a different location everyday.

I probably average over 2 trips a week on the year. Most of the year, it's 3 trips a week (every other day) but about 2 months out of the year a combination of cold weather and rain will hold me back to 1. I work nights and the kids are grown, so I make the 30 minute trip to the river and get in about 4 hours from the boat every other day. I usually fish every day when on vacation (4 weeks total). So.... I'm going to guess 115+. I always tell my wife "I don't know how much I will have to fish before I get sick of fishing, but when I retire, I aim to find out."

I'm going to guess a little over 100.  I fished every weekend except for Christmas,  most for 2 days.  I also made a few night fishing trips after work.  I get 3 weeks vacation, and fished most of those days.

It's early in 2023.  I'll see if I can add up how many days I've already fished this year and keep track rest of the year.

I used to average about 4 times a month. I was way down in 2022. One because of gas prices and two I adopted my dog. So I took about two months off from fishing. Now since my dog loves going on the boat so much I take him with. I just don’t go out below 50 anymore because of him. Before I’d go out. So my guess is 40ish last year and this year probably around 30 times.

I try to get out at least once every 2 weeks.
The average would be much more if counting pre fishing tournaments and competition days

Not as many as I worked :(. I didn’t keep track, but if there is open water and I don’t get out at least a couple times a week, I start to get cranky and restless.

I don't know how to count it because I fish every day on my lunch break.  So that's 260 days a year, where I fish for maybe 15-30 minutes.  Then add to that probably 3 weekend days a month on average where I'll spend, on average, 6-8 hours fishing.

So on one hand, I could say I spent about 300 days fishing last year.  But it may be more accurate to say I spent 36ish days fishing.

Although I love to fish I just could not do it everyday. Two or three days a week is fine for me. If I did more I'd probably just burn out. There's so much more things going on in life that have just as much a high priority. The key is balance, balancing it all out so that everything fits together nicely. Can't have a happy life without a happy wife! But to give an idea on just how much I drive to fish, my truck is almost 3 years old and has over 90k miles on the clock, most of which is for fishing only. So I do get around for those few days that I do fish.

No matter how many, it was not enough.

December-early March: 1x a week

Really can't fish late-March to mid April

May and early June: Not nearly enough because I'm in highschool and play baseball

June-August: about 2x a week

September-October: once a week again

I hate fishing in November, too cold

25 times for a working man would be great

yup, Often times I do twice a week, but maybe only for an hour or two because thats all the time I have. Its really helped me alot though, helped me learn to fish quick, cover water, pick apart structure fast, tie knots fast but correctly. etc. Spending all day fishing is not usually a weekly option, more like monthly, and if its a hot fishing time of year ill try to squeeze two times a month in. I also learned alot fishing from the bank. I learned what lures work well, and learned some very nice advantages to bank angling, by far the biggest advantage is stealth compared to a bass boat even with talons in clear water. There are far better anglers than me here, but im sure many have experienced smart clear water bass getting spooked by a large boat

Last year was the first year in a looong time that I actually kept a log since my friend wanted to do one to share information. I didn't get to fish as much last year as normal, but I totaled 90 trips. In recent years I usually average over 100. Not sure how 2023 will end up as I do have some DIY house reno work planned, but maybe I can focus on getting the shell up and do the rest of the finishing work over the never-ending winter. Not sure how my girlfriend will feel about that....but we'll see.

 What?

Between working 60 hours a week, a new house, starting a lawn from scratch that turned into a crabgrass farm, a trip to the UP, then football starting the first of September until the end of October, left me with zero time to go fish.

To be fair, we did fish from a bridge twice. My wife caught two smallmouth, and I went with my son twice to the river at the end of our cul de sac, but I don’t count those times because they were short trips.

150 to 200 times. I live 10 minutes from a decent smallie river. There are literally hundreds of places to bank or canoe fish around me.

I can certainly relate to this, early 90's though.

1 child in daycare, another child in kindergarten, building a house and working 6 - 10 hr days and wife starting her own business, wheeeew........ zero fishing.

We do what we gotta do, hang in there.

This thread may or may not be Bait Monkey approved, depending on the final results! ?

I don’t keep a log, but my best guess is between 25 and 30. Felt like 5. My wife probably thinks it was 364.

Actual fishing trips, probably 60-70. Had a lot of 15-30 minute stops at the lake before or after work that I don't really count as fishing trips. Not nearly as much as I use to go.

We didn’t move until May 13th and I didn’t start the lawn until early June. After reading a ton this fall I learned I was already doomed even though nothing had grown yet. You need to spread crabgrass prevention before the soil temp gets above 52 degrees. So I spent a few hundred dollars on grass seed and got a few patches of grass.
