Something on radar prompted the DoD to close Montana airspace but they never found the object. Seems like they’re at altitudes that pose risk for air traffic, unIike the first balloon. The curiosity is killing me. Quote

The U.S. military shot down a second “high altitude object” in American airspace, this time off the coast of Alaska on Friday, the White House announced. The mission occurred less than a week after a high altitude Chinese surveillance balloon was shot down off the coast of South Carolina. Quote

So far 3 have been downed. One off the coast of Carolina, one in Alaska and one over northern Yukon. Quote

There were at least 3 more in years past that are just now coming to light. You couldn't pay me enough money right now to fly around anywhere in a hot air balloon! ? 1 Quote

Super User king fisher Posted February 12, 2023 Super User Posted February 12, 2023 If I wanted something shot down, I would make it cheap, big, slow, and fly directly over the US where people could see it, while getting 24 hour news coverage. Maybe a big white balloon would work? Quote
