piscicidal Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I fished Okeechobee today and there were a bunch of pros out there practicing for the tourney this weekend. I recognized a few of the guys..a couple of them buzzed up to me and talked to me (once they saw I was catching fish... 8-)) One thing stuck out to me...many of these guys have not one but two power poles. Of the fishermen I know....I'd say 1/3rd of them have a power pole. I don't know anyone who has two. I am definately in the market for a power pole. My question for the guys who have them...has one ever not been enough for you? I am starting to question the effectiveness of the product if it takes two to do the job. No way I am buying two of those things. Either way, I don't think it's very good marketing. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted February 1, 2011 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted February 1, 2011 One power pole will stop you from moving forward or backwards. Two will stop the bow from swinging left or right. I suppose if you are fishing for a living, then it really matters. I use a stick it anchor pin ($80) and it works fine for me. Quote
piscicidal Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Fishin Daddy, Thanks for the response. I'd be fine with a PP and anchor pin as well.... I just want to make sure that the power pole will keep the boat from drifting. Quote
scrutch Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 If they're pros, some of them probably got the poles GIVEN to them. I agree with you on the bad marketing comment, that's $4000 for two anchors! Quote
SoFl-native Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 One is all you need, Mike. The bow can swing in the wind but it is not an issue. One will stop a boat on a dime. It is a must have for O or Lox. Go the cheap route and buy a sportsman model with % off coupon. I got mine from TW with a 20% coupon. Install it yourself. Done. Quote
