Big bass. Pretty, too.

"Cold", in a sunshirt and shorts ?, while I'm hoping it makes it above freezing one of my days off so my guides won't be icing the whole day.

Ha yep...weve got several feet of snow laying around and 15in ice on the local pond. My buddies went perch fishing yesterday because the wind chill " warmed up" to 25. Regardless that is a beauty!

Can you clarify exactly what would be the wrong way?   I always heard that you make sure to hold the fish perfectly vertical, and if horizontal support the rear of the fish.

Is there more to that, or is that the proper way?

Thumb inside the mouth bending the jaw open is the wrong way. Larger bass have thick jaws and holding the bass by the side of the jaw as in picture doesn’t stress the jaw.

holding Horizontal you use the same jaw grip and lift and rotate the bass horizontal.

It's supposed to "warm up", to 25* for a high while I'm out there tomorrow, morning low is 19* with 15mph N winds, it'll feel like single digits ?
