FrnkNsteen Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Cheap too,... Weren't they typically $6 or $7 at most places. Haven't seen Yamamoto baits in the $4 - $5 range in ages! 2 Quote

KP Duty Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Just saw that Academy sports still carries the 10-packs....but now they are $8.49! 1 Quote
Dan Strain Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 You can also buy BULK packs directly from them on their website for a discount if you only use #297 for instance if you sign up for their emails, they send out incentives and you can actually score things quite a bit cheaper Quote

Super User TOXIC Posted January 26, 2023 Super User Posted January 26, 2023 Yes, the new owner GSM changed the logo and packaging. I assume it will all change over once all of the existing packaging is used up. For now it’s just on the new baits developed under GSM. Little known secret that throughout the years there were formula changes that were identified (mostly) by new packaging. If you have any of the older clear with green solid label or blue solid label, they are a different formula (my favorite btw). Any with solid yellow labels were meant for sale only in Japan. They had their own product line. Yes, Senkos can be bought in bulk and there is no cutting the number of baits down in the regular packaging. Some of the larger baits are packaged fewer but the senko has always been 10 to a package. The ordering code for color 297 for example is 9-10-297. 9 identifies Senko, 10 identifies bait count and 297 is color. Kinami baits (Gary’s son) packaged fewer baits per bag and were cheaper. Those are no longer manufactured 2 Quote
Living4theWeekend Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I swung by the tackle section of Walmart today and saw Yamamoto Baits in a blue bag. I've never seen a blue bag of Senkos. Are these the same as the green bags? Walmart also has some new 6th Sense Baits. Is my Walmart just catching up to the rest of the Country or is Walmart stepping up their fishing game? Quote

My edumacated guess is they’re trying to catch up. ? Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted January 27, 2023 Super User Posted January 27, 2023 There is already a thread going on this. Supposedly Yamamoto has been bought out by another company. The new packaging is on new baits right now but will be used for all their baits eventually. Quote
