Hey y'all,

Title says all. Who best exemplifies everything the bait monkey stands for and wishes to do? Do you perhaps wonder if this person actually is the bait monkey? Let's hear it.

I vote @T-Billy

Hey now, we're not handing out participation ribbons here. We're looking for a winner here. Winning matters

Do you mean the biggest tackle junkie? Or the one who pushes people the most to become tackle junkies?

Who pushes people the most, but… if someone has a huge tackle collection… by virtue of their huge amount of baits, they may also, in a way, persuade you to want to buy more… without even saying anything.

There are many possibilities, but if I only get one vote I vote for @A-Jay. He has an impressive collection of baits. He doesn't overtly push baits, but whenever someone asks about a bait he posts a picture with 10 of the lures in every color imaginable.

Also, every time I watch a video of him catching another giant I suddenly feel the urge to go buy whatever he was using.

LOL. I get beat regularly by several monkeys. It's not limited to fishing. A couple weeks ago a new 5f11 Tweed Vibrolux showed up in my living room. That makes eleven amps in the current inventory, and an equal number of guitars. My 56 gun safe is also pretty dang crowded. I blame it all on my birth defect. I was born without a willpower, and the monkeys take advantage of my condition.

That's not many amps, or guitars.  A 56 gun safe is a start.    I don't have 11 amps but one of my amps is an original blackface Fender Twin.  I've got way more than 11 guitars, as well as a few violins, mandolins, and an old Gibson banjo.  I've also got a trumpet and a few harmonicas.

I actually think I have "decent" self control with the bait monkey.  I'd have to count, but I'd estimate that I have less than 10 rods and reels total.  All of my tackle is in my boat.   I spent most of my bait monkey allowance on live sonar, lithium batteries and such.

I think @A-Jay is on the bait monkeys payroll.  He isn't pushy about it.......and that's the kind of sales pitch that works on me.

Question, is the "bait monkey" syndrome a disease or a personality disorder? ☺️

Bait monkey???? Sorry don’t know the guy. I only buy what I need or I think I need. Right now I have 4-5 boxes full of plastic and crank still in original boxes since I don’t have space for them in My 2 drawers. The micro crank box I got almost 2 years ago and still plenty of lures unopened in original package. Just yesterday got a package of new 2023 SLX DC XT in left hand because I need both right and left hand. What else do I need???? Let me consult with my old pal Mr. ?.

Not really sure I'd want to have this title.

I vote that it's made a disease and that way there's a possibility of having insurance cover the cure for it....since the only cure is buying more tackle our insurance premiums might actually finally be worth it lol.

I like the way you think!!! The wife didn't say a word, or bat an eye when the Vibrolux appeared in the living room. I have a suspicion she thinks I brought the Classic 30 up from the cave. Same size, both tweed with oxblood grill cloth...... ?  Shhh...

Those twins are AWESOME if you have a place you can wind 'em up. My buddy has a 69 silverface. Something about being able to feel those big open chords resonate in your chest that makes ya feel like a kid again.

A-Jay has his sales pitch perfected. Show a box full of baits, then a couple 6-7 pound brownies caught on them. Works everytime.

I've never heard the term " Bait Monkey " until I joined this forum.

Once I figured out he was actually real, I was able to defend myself.
