Just got a bunch of these tasty “Firework” finesse jigs from Catch Co. Could use some help picking a trailer. I am thinking a 3” Rage Craw? What would y’all rig these with?

For me; trimmed down RI beaver, gambler otter, & z-man crawz.  Except in the dead of summer, my confidence lies in the profile and glide of a do nothing trailer.  I really only fish clear water and I think this plays a significant role.

On a ball head finesse jig its hard to beat a zoom super chunk Jr or a 4in yamamoto double tail grub.

Rage Menace or Baby Craw. Sometimes I’ll use a ribbon tail worm as well. I bite about half the body off all of these.

A Zoom small chunk for a plastic trailer. Or, if you can get some, a #101 pork frog or #11 pork frog.

Colder water - twin tail grub

Warmer water - Pit Boss Jr./ Rage Menace Grub

if I'm throwing a finesse jig like that, its because the fish are not in an eating mood so I'm using a trailer that's pretty tame.  The mini d-bomb is a good choice for that and what I have rigged.  if you want an even smaller profile a small zoom super chunk is tiny.  If you want a little more action but still small profile the Zoom swimmin chunk is nice.  These all have full length skirts and need a trim, but are otherwise straight out of my box and ready to fish.

Don Iovino Craw jig trailer are being closed out at TW as Don isn’t making soft plastics. Last chance to buy Iovino hand poured soft plastics.

Keitech Tungsten Football Jig with 3" Daminki Air Craw. I trim the trailer a bit to make it more compact. The claws float and really make the jig stand up. Larger jigs I like the 4" version.

XZone Finesse MB Craw, Berkley Chigger Bug, any 3.5” beaver and lastly, any appropriately sized chunk. I’m not picky about my chunks or beavers.

Baby Rage Craw, twintail grub, small size beaver type bait.  The beaver if I could only have one.

Maybe drizzle a little melted garlic butter over it, and you're set.

I like the osp 3" dolive craw or a TRD on mine.

Wow, a lot of great options here, some of which I have, others I’d like to definitely try. The cold water options are a big help of course right now. Thanks all!

This time of year I would be thinking more of the size of the profile.  Around here smaller is better and it works best to thread the trailer on the jig hook.
